Arne did you end up trying to do anything about condensation? Nights are getting down around 0 Celsius here now so the condensation under the mattress is getting ridiculous.

I've found a few US companies selling matts for this specific purpose but nothing in Aus so far, also more keen on DIY stuff as always haha. Any luck in EU?

Hey Sam, no, havent gone around fixing it as it summer here in Norway. But still looking in to as its good to have extra insulation.
The guys on a Norwegian Overlanding facebook-page suggest using a XPE foam mat (10mm) same type as is used on outdoor camping sleeping mattress. Some of them are using this and has had no problem with condensation. So im thinking about testing it out as the foam mat isnt that expensive :) approx 70 AUD for 3 mats that i have to cut to fit.

Ah ok, thanks. I'll see if I can find something cheap and local to try out. Looks kind of like a thick yoga mat??

From everything I have read elsewhere, reflectix is the best option. Can't seem to find it anywhere locally though so I'll have to get it from the US via ebay and it'll take ages. Trying to find other options before resorting to that. And spending too much money elsewhere on my ute at the moment to fork out for it hahaha.

Reflectix looks like thin sound deadening material? Some sound deadening material have this aluminum surface to reflect heat. They come in different thickness, from 2-3mm to 30mm(The thicker ones have compressed felt that could provide extracushioning) Maybe that also could work?

The reflectix I have looked at has a double layer of plastic bubbled (like regular bubble wrap) and then a layer of silver foil on either side.

Depends if you can find it locally. Easy enough to find on ebay.

Hi all! Been a while since I last posted!
Not much new has been done to the lux after the tent got on as its pretty much setup to go exploring now.
What I can share is that I will be alternating my setup a tiny bit.
Larger RTT will be coming later this year, home made drawer setup in the tub will be coming towards the summer, and maybe creating a new bedrack to accompany the new RTT.

I encourage you to follow my instagram page or my Facebook page, both named Arn's Lux Adventure.
Many photos will be posted there, both about the build and the trips we do. Hope to chat with you there also!

This forum is the best and really good for seeking knowledge and help, so will be coming back for stupid questions every once in a while! Lets chat again soon!

Hey guys!
Thought id update here as its been a while :)

Newest news is i will be building a camper for the Hilux this year! (Hope the animated file works)
Image

Will be building it similar to Go Fast Campers in the states, but just slightly different.
Will try to update you guys on that along the way.

Other then that i installed my backseats right before Christmas, i also just did the folding backseat mod as i am installing a subwoofer enclosure there. Thanks to TOYZX(Luke) for the input on that :)

Some time has passed and new things are on the Hilux!
Image

DIY Canopy is on and the new RTT is mounted on top!
I went away from my original plan that was to build a wedgetent on top of the canopy to be one unit.
This way i was able to still get bigger dry-storage and a larger sleeping area. We are a family of 3 so having a bigger sleeping platform made much more sense.

I am currently making a battery box to run lighting and our fridge. Already done some that i can show you.

Lights and switches are also installed, just have to do a propper wiring job so it looks nice and tidy.

Not very good on updating this build thread, most of my pictures end up on my Instagram and Facebook page. But will try to remember to update you guys here as well!
