thought id post a few pics here before i start doing too many mods picked up a 2010 sr a few weeks ago and although i was planning on keeping it completely stock hanging around here hasnt really helped me make rational decisions.... :)

as i bought it, just a bar some sr5 alloys and driving lights. and how it was supposed to stay....

fitted the uhf aerial and some lightforce 240s i had on my last patrol. still unsure where to mount the icom400 so that isnt wired up yet
also got some sr steelies which i recon look better and dont hang out past the guards
Image

shes on the hoist today getting a 2inch superior engineering kit with efs springs and bilsteins all round so will have some more pics shortly with it standing a bit taller

well after the lift was originally stuffed up and front struts installed incorrectly its now all fixed up and sitting much higher went up just over 80mm all round :)

has now developed a vibration around 45 kmh so have some 2 degree caster wedges on the way and hopefully that sorts it out

front swaybar is also just touching the coils and coil retainer part of the strut so looks like ill have to space that out as well,

also got 5 new bfg all terrains in 235/85r16 for $165 each fitted. they had done bugger all kays and still had the nipples on the tread so got lucky there. still inside the guards too so no need to fit flares

got the 2* caster wedges in and it nearly got rid of all the vibrations thank god.

fitted a rear arb bar i scored for $600 and got a spare couple of hours to fit the snorkel up this week, the denso is a nice piece of gear and fitted up easier than i thought. just cut a bit of plastic
on the end of the original plastic in the engine bay side and it hooked up nice to the v6. still only has the foam sealing there so might silicon it when i have time

also picked up a winch cradle during the week. thanks to jiggins for a great price on it :)
so next step is fit the aldi winch and a 2nd battery

Havnt had much time to do anything but enjoy it lately
but had a spare few hours today so fitted up the buds bash plates and a set of toyota side steps and scrub bars
i picked up off ebay bathurst toyota is great to deal with

Also have some 3mm plate to make a transmission/ transfer plate up and tidy up the exhaust so it doesnt hang so low
Not sure what toyota were thinking when they ran the pipes on the v6. Might put a better Y pipe in where they merge not that it will make much difference but if im under there cutting and welding then why not hey

Got around to fitting a new head unit and the uhf in place of the old stereo also new speakers in all doors the kids will be happy on the next trip that they can hear the music in the back
Still have to fit the side trims

Image

The sound still wasnt too good so lashed out on some ebay dynamat and done the inside and outer door skins which made a fair improvement, they are only cheap speakers so didnt expect great sound but its a lot better than 2 paper speakers that were in the front

The worst part was cleaning the dust and grime from inside the doors before sticking it on

Image

Image

Still have a couple of square metres left so will do behind the rear seat and anywhere else i can get to easily

Havent done much lately but was overdue for the 120,000 k service so done the front & rear diffs and transfer case,
Checked the condition of the auto fluid while i was under there and its pretty dark (think WS oil is supposed ti be red?)
so getting that serviced and flushed next week.

Good time to fit a trans cooler so got a big hayden one mounted so the trans guy can hook it up while he has it

Image

Also trying to decide whether ill put a tray on it, been looking around for a good priced 2nd hand steel tray so if anyone wants to swap for a good tub and arb rear towbar let me know :)

Scored a steel tray today needs a bit of a tidy up but still around 1/3 of new price so pretty happy with that

Will make a good base for a rooftop tent and have heaps of extra room compared to the tub

Nice build so far,

Have you noticed an improvement in road noise since you've put the dynamat in?

Hasnt made much of a difference to road noise but theres still a lot of places i havent covered when i get time wanna do more in the back wall and firewall and front wheel arxh area then the leftovers will go on the floor

The doors are dead as when you tap them now so it must be doing something.. Its the pingjing deadener of ebay and i was happy with it for the price

Well got the tray on today took a bit longer than i thought it would
the light wiring and tidying up the wires underneath took a while cause now you can see it instead of being hidden by the tub

For some reason as soon as i started it up after swapping them over the check engine light came on so dunno if its coincidence or i fu&$ed something up so have to sort that out

Best $1050 ive spent so far theres so much more room i should have done it ages ago

Bolted on
Image

It does look a bit odd with the arb rear step towbar under there and now the underguard toolboxes wont fit in
:( so not sure if ill put a factory towbar back on or cut the boxes down to fit above the arb bar
