I was hoping for 180rwkw with this latest lot of mods but only just nudged 160, however we do know the snorkel was causing a restriction and the slipping clutch made it difficult to check gains.

Also thought I'd have a go at polishing the bonnet to see if I could avoid a respray, so some high cut compound and pads on the Polisher and what do you know!

It's not perfect but I'm happy enough with it :D

Also have some more subtle changes happening over the next week, mostly in the engine bay

Hey mate, when you say your paint was stuffed, was it the clearcoat or the base coat as well?

Clear coat - in the right light you can see where the clearcoat is now gone

Ok yea mines starting to turn white and has a few holes in it.(black hilux)
You think polishing will help then seal it with something? Cant afford a respray at the moment unfortunately.

New headlights installed, just waiting on the grill to turn up.

MUCH brighter than the stock headlights and only running halogens = legal! :D

Fortuner front end fitted - still need the upper strip that runs along the bonnet line and have yet to refit my bullbar infills under the headlights.

The clutch takes some getting used to and it's a very finicky conversion you have to know exactly what you're doing to get it to work properly.
I wouldn't risk it, get a mechanic who is experienced with these clutches to install it

Nice build StevenS, love your work mate. How did you go with the Aurion steering wheel? I'd like to change my steering wheel out with something less tatty and from what I can see on ebay there's plenty of Aurion steering wheels to choose from. Did you change your airbag out into the new wheel or did it come as one? Do the steering wheel controls work?

Cheers!
Dan.

Steering wheel was pretty much a direct bolt in swap - but Unfortunately I can't remember if I had to swap the ignitor modules on the airbag
