Nah I fitted it over the flare then did a bead of sika over the flare to body. I put rubber on just to stop rubbing since sika has some Movement.

having withdrawals from my ute. haven't seen it in 3 weeks now. just waiting on some new parts hopefully not to much longer.

plan on modifying my bull bars top hoops and maybe the side wings when i get her back, haven't decided what shape yet but

picked up some 2013 roll bar and ladder racks the other week already painted black in a ripple texture.

got bored this arvo so i decided to mount my led's to my new roll bar which i am still yet to put on my ute.
had to make a bracket for the light under the roll bars, didn't have any all plate so i improvised with my old side steps

the led underneath is my old led from the previous ute and will face down to light up whats in the tray and the two on top are from cree, picked up 4 of these for an awesome price. other two will be mounted on my bullbar.

gutter drain came in handy to bend the plate

all put on. need to make some shims to angle the 2 led's on top up a little as there pointing down onto the roll bar at the moment.

Postby 06lux on Wed, 22 Jul 2015 5:54 +0000

i can now finally say that my lux is completely fixed and running awesome.
been out fourbying the last few weeks at a mates farm and everything works how it should. the MR uca's are awesome flexes and tucks real nice.
just need to do a bit of trimming on the front guards.
haven't got a photo of it at the moment but she's now sitting at 3" at the front and 2" at the rear.

have manage to crack my rear flare though. dropped down hard into a rut and landed right on it. sh*t happens though. should be going to glasshouse soon so ill try get some snaps

Re: julz's new hilux 2.0. Fuel leak :(

Postby 06lux on Tue, 08 Sep 2015 3:16 +0000

Contrary to what I said above she isn't running to good. My long ranger tank has a leak. Went from 200km a quarter tank down to 80 in 3 days. Junped under to have a look why and noticed that there is a cracked weld in the corner from where i have "scraped" it. Spewing cause I just put 120L in it.

Went to glasshouse a few weeks ago as well. Was a good day. Went out with jaydo and a mate. No dramas all day apart from my mate cracked his lower control arm but it looked like it was going for a while.

Got a few snap. Anyone know how to upload videos. Photobucket doesn't want to play nice. Click to see larger photos. Couldn't resize on my phone

Suspension is working so good. Getting awesome travel out of it. Actually have to limit up travel because it's scraping bad up front and in the rear. Will limit it for now and when I get the 305's I'll do even more cutting. So far I've chopped the flares, inner guard and bashed the pinch weld back. All this and my 32's still scrub. Lovin the soft leafs and new ucas

dam man, didn't realise you had done you fuel tank when we were at glasshouse, thats a bummer man.
I normally just chuck the videos on youtube and then upload them to here. You trying to put that epic wheel lift up?

You don't know what fuel tank you have do you bro? I was looking at getting a long range one after cape haha.
Does yours sit flush underneath or does it hang down a little?

Re: julz's new hilux 2.0. modified bullbar

Postby 06lux on Mon, 21 Sep 2015 9:35 +0000

Got bored on Sunday so I decided to do some trimming and modifying to the bull bar. Chopped the side wings up about 100mm ish and tapered it down the the center section. Also cut the hoops off and will be making some different hoops for it
Got to weld a flange on the back and make a skid plate to join the bashplate to bullbar
Cut line

All cut off

Now just got to relocate the washer bottle and body mount chop and it's ready for some bigger rubber

Got busy today installing and cutting stuff. Got the washer bottle relocation kit installed, brighter headlight globe's, re painted the front grill and cut more of the inner guard out
Had problems with the bottle leaking through the grommet but sikkaflex fixed that.

Image

Image

Crap load more clearance now the bottle is gone. Just need to make up some skid plates from the bull bar inwards.

Also noticed this the other day so ordered some sliding sway bar links to replace them.

Went out to glasshouse again last week. getting more confident in my driving now and hitting harder tracks. Unfortunately my mate managed to drown his new Hilux and kill the motor due to stupidity and not checking the depth even after we said too. Towed it out to the road and trailered it home. In the process of rebuilding it now.
Need to get someone out with a camera next time this is all I got from the day. Not sure if the video will work

Mate next time you are out there I'll bring all of my GoPro's and we can put something together. Was it that water hole I told you to avoid last time we were there haha? If so than that's two cars I know of that the hole has beaten haha.
Was it your mate who came out last time (can't remember his name). He had a nice rig.

Also, can't remember if I asked - do you find the UCA's helped much with front end travel? Can't decide if I wanna spend the extra dosh buying them or if I would rather just get a locker haha.

Nice build mate! How do you like the hankook muddies? Was thinking about trying a set when I go to 33s, they have been getting some good reviews saying they wear pretty good and they aren't too noisey. They r fairly cheap compared to alot of the other big brands. Cheers.

Yeah jaydo it was that big hole. We came in mud mile from the other end. Na a different mate.

Yeah I reckon they help a bit with droop. And the spring doesn't get a flogging anymore from the uca now too.

Cheers toyz I know what I want from my ute this time round so everything is a bit more thought out. Last lux was just throw it all on cause I'll need it at some stage.

The hankooks are awesome. I actually just ordered another set. This set has got me about 60 thou k's I reckon. And a lot of there life they were given a thrashing. There a really tough tyre too I've had a 30cm slice down one tyre since the first time I went out and never had a issue with it at low pressures

That's good to hear! What size and how much r ya paying if ya don't mind me asking. How r they for noise? I'm running bighorns at the moment, they weren't too bad for the first 20thou but not that they r getting down a bit they r getting louder, harder and it's making them suffer in the rocky stuff with bad chipping.

I'm getting 285/75/17. I've got a mate that hooked me up for a alloy rim and tyre package but worked outgo be about $300 a tyre.
You know there there but it's only a slight hum not to noisy. Yeah these haven't got any louder with age. These actually wear quiet well I still have full confidence in them with only 5mm tread left. And not one lug has chipped. I've been at glasshouse every weekend the last few weeks and no chips at all. I'd rate them as a good tyre.

Postby 06lux on Fri, 30 Oct 2015 5:28 +0000

Old sway bar links were gone so bought some sliding links. Installed them this arvo and testing them tomorrow. Only took 30minutes.
Also mounted some led's to the front bar. Just need to wire them up now. Kind of likening the look of no hoops on the top. Considering leaving the bar how it is. What use think.
