Love the sub box mate!
The drink holder on top is handy too. Did you make this yourself or is it an after market console lid available off the shelf?
Any more pics of the sub box :D

So I got hold of some Tough Dog shocks at Ballarat swap meet a few weeks back and joined the yellow spring club with some King springs KTFR 101HD. So its out with the strut spacers and in with a proper lift. Before fitting I did a bunch of reading on the forum and a lot of blokes seemed to be fooling around with spring compressors which all seem to agree are a bit sketchy. Anyone thinking of using spring compressors to assemble the strut and spring should watch this video and then the part 2 afterwards. Fairly quick process and safe as houses.

Web-Eng asked for some pics ages ago and I forgot all about it so heres how we got it done.

Started with a chipboard mockup
Image
Added some angles to get the most volume possible against the seats
Image

Image

Needed more volume in the box so had to add a bit more to the front
Image

Add upholstery
Image

Then a sneaky drink holder and ur done

So we are finally making progress on the sliders. Got em all welded up ground back and test fitted all good. They are currently at the powdercoaters getting sandblasted and coated.

Gave the old girl a bit of TLC. Cleaned the MAP filter, didn't appear to be too bad,
Image
And the little hose that supplies it. Had a little bit of gritty black stuff in the hose.
Image

Also cleaned the MAF sensor which didn't seem too bad either. Im working up to tackling the full EGR clean when I get a full day at it. Gave it a good clean and a full wax polish.
Image

And some grippy tape on the sliders, powdercoat is slippery as hell when its wet I can tell you.

Been a while since ive updated but few tings happening. New winch and bulbar and just started building a tray.
1770 wide so it doesn't sit too wide outside the cab and 1660 long.

I like the rear chassis mounts you've made. Much more elegant than the ugly setup I botched together on mine. I had a similar design for the tray in that I wanted the tray tucked behind the cab. 1750mm square I think mine is. Great work and keep us posted if you can.

Cheers Fish will keep things updated as I go along. With 2 kids it wont happen overnight but it will happen. Before I started I did do plenty of research and looking at how other people have made their trays and yours was one I did look at. I will put up plenty of photos so hopefully will help others trying to build their own tray. Made some progress over the weekend, I'm fairly fussy and particular on getting the design all sorted so a lot of time is spent looking and clamping things up, looking a bit chopping a bit and backwards and forwards.

Have made a little progress over the last week. Started on the headboard which will be made from cattle rail and wanted it to curve a bit and follow the cabin. I have a mate with a roller so filled the cattle rail with sand to avoid crushing and welded end caps on.

Image

Turns out u cant just roll it you end up crushing it and making a real mess. So it was back to the shed for the old cut and shut to bend it around. These are the sides,

Image

and the top piece,

Image

Image

Image

Just for the hell of it I cut out the front square corner and ran the rounded edge of the cattle rail right down.

Image

Did a whole bunch of grinding after the cut n shut.

Image

Trying to cut angles on curved stock is not the easiest

Image

Once it was all shaped I tacked it all up

Image

Pretty happy with the final outcome now probly should repeat it now and make a rear hurdle to match.

Image

Image

Image

Couldn't hug the cab much more I reckon

Image

Next I'm looking to recess in a brake light into the top of the headboard, again just for the hell of it. This one I bought is a bit big and a bit red when not active so I'm looking to find one a bit smaller and one that is clear when not lit up.
