Got a bit more done today, I notched out the angle brace to fit in the suspension gussets and tries to tig it up, the gaps are to big and tigging will take an eon so I had a crack at stick welding it up. My stick welding is average at best and I wasn't having much luck so I hit up my neighbour to see if he was any good at welding, turns out he's a boily so that's fixes that :D he had a go but my welding rods are to small to get a decent bead (2.4mm gp rods). Tomorrow I'll grab some 3.5mm rods and get it sorted, spent the arvo drinking beer instead :D

got some more trailer done and some updates to the hilux as well,

first up the trailer, i sorted the suspension and finish welded it all then started on my drawbar, had a bit of a bad welding day yesterday so i gave up and had some beer instead

yesterday my front mount turned up so today i took a break from welding and installed it. Its a PWR kit from 1KD performance the kit is comprehensive and the destructions were foolproof :D

it ended up taking me longer to relocate my winch solinoid than to install the front mount
i didnt have an air saw or a close enough sized holesaw so i had to resort to drilling it out
Image

my winch solinoid is now nestled under the axis bar wing, i have in cab controls so i dont need to access the remote hole but it is accessable

and it all fitted up

tommorrow ill refit the grill and spotties. I took it for a quick test run and its dropped a good 60 degrees out of my egts so next week ill get it back on the dyno get some more fuel and boost back into it.

Also while fitting the turbo side pipe i noticed mt turbo front housing wobbled! turned out the bolts between the exhaust and inlet side of the turbo were loose, nipped them up and it all good again

ok, was just curious, 6203 is a very small bearing to be doing that sort of work, commonly found in alternators in the 70ies and 80ies and the odd idler pulley now with a 17mm id from memory, but it gives me the idea.

cheers.

That makes more sense.

Are you going to run Toyota rims that can double as spares for the hilux if needed?

If so have you chosen 10 or 12" brakes?

Yeah its Toyota stud pattern but I'll be running the 29inch all terrains that came on my hilux, I can't justify buying another couple of 33inch trail grapplers, plus they'd be massive overkill for a trailer. The kit came with 10inch electric brakes

bit of an update on the hilux, got it back on the dyno yesterday to see if i could get the EGTS down some, unfortunately i cant seem to get any boost in it (only running 13psi atm) any attempts to get more result in fault codes, my rail pressure relief keeps cutting in and im getting a low rail fuel code. it also decided to start leaking oil from the crank seal. So tuesday its going back in to get that changed (i dont have a gear puller for the harmonic balancer so ill pay to get this one done) and to get the relief valved shimmed and a lift pump installed so i can keep the fuel up to that rail. (this is what was recommended from the unichip support guy)
as it stands i ended up with 140hp at the wheels on the dyno yesterday, it drives fine and the EGTs are a bit lower (400ish at 110kmhr) but im stilll not happy with it, ill update again next week after the next run.

I havent got much else done on the trailer, ive welded in the drawbar and just need to mount up my spare wheel holder and paint the undercarraige. Ive got some wicked nerve pain gong on in my knee at the moment so today ive just been bombed out on painkillers and relaxing
