now ill just need to do an axle swap on trailer and fit the leafs off the back of the lux after my lift goes in so i can fit the 29's onto it so i can tow it up the cape

you will have to do a little more too cape proof that trailer. change those wobble rollers for skids as they will bend the bottom of the hull. if that happens it willl track all over the joint in the water and become unpredictable. also gusset the guards as the corrugations will snap them off at the frame. also setup a turnbuckle from the eye on the front of the boat down to the base of the winch post on an angle so you can pull it foreward and down into the front rollers on both the keel and the winch post.

cheers man it was the plan to change to skids, ill probably change the guards completely as they wont clear the 29's.
Ill also build some stoneguards off the drawbar to try to save the boat hull. great idea on the turnbuckle i was just going to ratchet strap the buggery out of it, i do have a strap down, leave on boat cover that holds it all down snug and the motor will be going in an old tyre, strapped down in the middle of teh boat over the axles to save the transom
hopefully itll all hold together, just depends on my welds :D

yeah thats the go. replace the split pins on the keel rollers too as they tend to snap and fall out. i have seen some good setups come through my old work. Generally they run a spare hub mounted to a stub axle bolted to the drawbar as well as a spare spring u bolted to the top side of the a frame.
also remember to have the axle under the springs so the u bolt threads dont hang down.

i also picked up a voltage gauge and switch from jaycar on the way home and installed it this arvo.
I already had feeds from both batteries in the dash so apart from fitting the actual hardware it was easy as

my new sliders turned up yesterday courtesy of monster rides, so i fitted them up this arvo. It was pretty easy except for the rear bolts on the passenger side. probably should have done the sliders before the long range tank but i eventually got the bolts through
they came awesomely packaged

second Christmas for me today!
finally got my lift and axis bar and bash plates today
Image

the rear springs werent in the box, but to matty at monster rides credit he offered to refund or pay for them local supplied as im booked in to get it installed monday (cant do it myself because the car wont fit in the garage with the lift in). matts a top bloke hes been awesome to deal with.
so as soon as i got it home and unpacked i started pulling off the toyota bar to fit the axis
Hilux naked :D
Image
i bolted the winch into the cradle then with the help of my missus lifted the bar on and bolted it up and refitted the spotties and ariel
Image

tomorrow ill cut down the guard liners so they look neater and paint the silver crap thats visible, i think ill also paint the winch hawse black to match the bar.
