I am also looking forward to seeing photos when these are fitted. I have been looking at getting the same bars. They look just as good as Buds without the 6 month wait.

Ring them up, speak with Paul, he is very helpful. He is also on this forum somewhere, cant remember his avatar name though. Mine were made and then delivered from Brisbane to Sydney in 2 weeks. Very well made.

Today the sliders went on

And the rear bar

The bars are from Phat bars, well made and not too difficult to fit. Paul was really helpful, gave me tips on fitting them over the phone.

They look pretty slick too, IMO.

Looks great mate. The build is coming along nicely.

Could you put a couple more photos up of the rear bar? It looks like its got a bit more clearance than the ARB equivalent.

Cheers,

Chris.

Thanks, I will put up some photos of the rear bar for you as soon as I can. I havent sat it next to an arb bar and compared, but to me it looks similar, without the grader blade hanging off the bottom.

Coming along nice. Did you do the dual battery yourself or get it done? If so how much did it set you back? Looks like a decent job.

Love the rear bar. When I can afford it i'll be getting one of them too. Looks like it fits better than the ARB too.

The dual battery was put in by opposite lock. The cost was $1250 which included the charger, the outback brand battery tray, power outlets in the tub, and 100ah deep cycle battery.

I will put some better pics of the rear bar up when it is daylight, but there are some pics on the Phat bars website

Here are some more pics of rear bar

It fits around the factory Toyota tow bar, and as far as departure angle goes, the tow bar is going to hit long before the Phat bar does.

Looks solid mate! How do you find the dual battery setup? Good? Can you jump start your car etc from the second one? I'm thinking of doing a kit to power a little waeco but don't know what route to go down..

Dual battery hasnt been used in anger yet, just tested it with a lead light. If you want to jump start yourself, you need to use jumper leads with the way it is set up, but itis not recomended with a deep cycle battery. Emergency only

Thanks,

Yeh, ive got a few little things going on.

I was going to get speedliner spray on tub liner put in the tub, but the local supplier didnt impress me so i am looking at alternatives at the moment.

Getting bash plates underneath soon, i will put up pics when they turn up.

I am also going to blacken the sports bar, but havent decided on paint or powdercoat yet.

Yeah if I was going to line my tub again, that would be my avenue as well, although my toyota one has taken a beating and stood up well over 4 years now. I only know of two brands for the spray on liner and that is tjm and rhino.
Yeah I like and currently have the sports bar look on mine but am thinking of replacing it with a canopy for keeping stuff safe in the back.
Top colour too!

With the spray on liner, you have speedliner and rhino, the two main ones. You also have xtreme coatings, but they only do black unless you have about 20 vehicles or something like that. You also have many different DIY types to chose from.
I didnt know TJM did spray on liners, I thought they only did a drop in tub.

I think the tjm variant is the speed liner, they have a range of colours but I was going to do black but didn't commit because of the $750 price tag
