Postby Twento on Sun, 07 Sep 2014 3:50 +0000

Ok guys, did an introduction few weeks ago, thought id start here in the build thred.

Started with picking up my 2014 Diesel dual cab hilux up with:
2" OME suspension
ARB winch bar
ARB step bar
ARB side step ad scrub bars
ARB canopy with gas struts
265/70/17 MTZ

started with this

Only took me a few days before i started drilling hose to add a snorkel

Image

Added some 9' HID 100W and some 10W rear LED lights

Image
Image

and added some canvas seat covers front and back

Image

and then got bored and wired up my CTEK 250S dual battery system, wasnt sure where to mount but this is where it ended up

Have been reading through some threads and have disabled the key beeper, seat beeper and rear seat mod

I bought a ARB compressor and hard wired, mounted behind the backseat, fitted a tee peice off the compressor to run outlets on either side of the rear seats,

Pretty happy with how it turn out, the storage under the seat is perfect for the air compressor hose kit and deflators.

Nice build mate. I like your compressor setup. Any plans for a tank? What's the future plans for the truck?

Cheers,

Chris.

Rig looks good Trent. 1 thing I have done is fuse the supply to my ctek and then from the ctek to the 2nd battery and then again from the battery to the back of the car.

I have mine placed in the exact same position
Did you have to do any chopping to install you UHF?

Thanks for the tip mate i may look into doing that. Have you had and dramas with the CTEK?

No chopping for the UHF, just pulled the dash fascia around the stereo area and that gives you access to the ash tray bracket.
Then you will see two screws holding the ash tray bracket, ideally the whole dash panel should come off but with a long phillips i managed to get the screws and with pointy nose pliers i bent the ash tray mount tabs to pull the bracket out. then installed the UHF :D

Nah no dramas with the ctek, great unit
Might look at that this w.e I currently have my UHF mounted in my glove box on the top section so that I can still put everything inside it and all out of the way mounted with Velcro still going after 20000kms

Good to see it getting dirty.

Guys these ARB compressors I see most of you installing, how fast are they at inflating a tyre? I mean from a flat tyre to 34-35 psi how fast can it do it?

Yeah, it still looks sexy as Trent. If you're genuinely looking for suggestions, lock at least 1 diff. I did my rear and the difference is unbelievable.

alexisdmtr - the ARB compressor in my experience would be the quickest of the main name brand compressors. There might be quicker specialty ones but out of my mates with different brands mine trumps them.

So this kind of compressors have nothing common with the cheap ones that Home Depot kind of stores sell i guess right? How much they cost and how do you connect and operate them?Sorry for hijacking the thread...if there is somewhere else i could find some info plz let me know
