Been a little while but a little mod today. I had some cigarette lighter burns from the previous owner so I took to it with some carbon fibre vinyl wrap and I'm pretty happy with the results.

A bit more, after seeing how easy it was to takeout the centre console I decided my 10" slimline sub needed to go under the rear passenger seat. It was much easier then I intended and the sound is great! With the resonance chamber underneath the seat it gives a very powerful sound. Its also got its own inbuilt amp. I ran all tge wiring completely hidden and along existing wiring conduit and lines so it shouldn't get a screw through it or pinched anywhere. So here's a few pics.

Been a while but I finally got around to putting on a bed liner to cover up the nastiness of my tray bed. I got a duplicolour bed armour kit with everything needed to do the job for 180 from the local auto barn. I decided to do it in 40 degree heat obviously. It worked quite well, in the kit you get a gallon (over 4 litres) I still have half a tub left after jamming it on thick for the recommended two coats. I will do more but probably next weekend as I need to use the ute this weekend.

CTEK D250S turned up today, got some great service from batteries direct out of Sydney. So I now have the means to begin installing the dual battery system. I'm heading away this weekend but hopefully I'll make a proper start on it next week. Stay tuned!

Looking good mate I did the same in my tub with the bed armour it's holding up quiet well. Looks like you have a few less lumpy bits than I do.

Thanks 10 luxxxx its sort of a trick of the photo, I was slapping it on real thick but you can still tell its wood underneath. The back passengers corner has lots and lots of lumpy bits. But its even in that section so its not as noticeable.

Absolutely Knoxy, my 40" isn't a really expensive one ($350 from a mate who couldn't fit it on his patrol). Dual row 3W LEDs, all flood because I only really use it offroad and it is amazing the amount of light it produces! I have my driving HID's and LED pods and when I flick the light bar on the pods are useless and the HIDs are as well for about 150m - 200m. Just watch it at the front you don't get glare off the bonnet because that may be a real issue, its not for me being so far back.

Quick update, not many mods gone on over Christmas but looks as though ill be offloading my second vehicle very shortly. Went to Precision Diesel in Rockhampton and there guys there were great! Got the injector values checked and sweet as a nut feedbacks are way within spec and everything else checks out as well. So in the near future, dint fix, UVP, water tank, clutch, after factory fuel filter, aux battery and ctek250s. After all that im seriously considering an E-Locker. The missus is telling me its a good idea so that must mean something.

Well Ultra-Luxe is off to fix up the dint in the sill, should have taken a before shot but ah well. Got the second battery and D250s in and wired! Was an easy enough job I just took my time tried to make it neat and not bugger up any wire lengths. To say im proud is an understatement, one of the best DIY jobs I've ever done. Also the first I've done without having to borrow anyones knowledge or their tools lol. Anyway 120 ah AGM battery from full river in a custom made bracket in my tool box with the D250s mounted on the wall of the box. I didnt have time to do the wiring to the inside for the outlets but I'll do that when it comes back from panel beating. Heres a few pics to add to the build thread.











Still carry jumper leads just in case.



Looks good after tidying up. Also fire extinguisher just in case lol.

do yourself a favour and ditch the battery tray for a battery box ,with a little bit of bouncing around the clamps bend on those trays and you will have a loose battery rolling around in the back .Battery box also allows you to add 12v outlets directly to them

Not actually a tray, an enclosure(if you will) i've built, but I hear your point. Also bolted through the tray deck. Outlets are going exclusivey in the cab so no need for outlets at the battery.

Do yourself a favor and replace those wires with something decent.

Minimum I'd use is 4gauge... I know you are only running a fridge (I think) but still.

On recharge from a nearly depleted battery the battery will take what it can get i.e the full amp output from your alternator, 70-120amps (that cabling and over distance is not big enough).

Forgive me if I've miscalculated but the D250S only draws a max current of 25 amps. And outputs 20 amps maximum. Im using wire rated at over double of each of these loads. The second battery is not drawing directly from the alternator therefore there will never be 70 - 120a going through this cabling. This is why I've used lighter guage cabling than what you see on just a battery isolator which allows the battery to draw directly from the alternator.
