have you got it wound back up to 2.5 yet in the front ?? can monster rides make up custom kits for you ?? i'm thinking i wouldn't mind that extra adjust ability up front so i can set my perfect height once all my extra's go on (bar , winch , dual battery ) maybe rekon gear up front and rear not sure what leaves out back but don't really carry anything to heavy that often and would prob leave out the bash plates to later down the track.

Yeah mate, I'm doing it today. Just finished doing the brakes and wheel balance. Will do the winding up after lunch.

Yeah - you don't have to buy all Rekon. You can buy just bits and pieces of you want. Best to talk from Matt at MR. I would recommend their front coilovers and sway bar re locator over and over though. It's great. The adjustable stuff is just the ducks nuts.
I got the MR shockies and Dobinson rear springs.

yeah sweet i'm thinking i might head down the rekon kit route now will roughly work out the same if i do the install myself. did u end up getting stage 1 or 2 ?? how much roughly you reckon for front and rear set up without all the bash plates etc ??

Umm... I got a mix match of stuff.
I got the coilovers and swaybar relocators for the front.
On the rear I got the MR shockies and ordered the springs through MR as well (which were the dobinsons).
I did get the two bashplates sent as well (would highly recommend them - they have saved me a few times). I ordered it all for 2.3k. In total it was about 2.5k delivered.

Bashplates in total were like 350-400 I think, so if you didn't want them just subtract that from the total value :)

-EDIT-

Everything I got plus the bash plates:

Monster Rides front coilovers 2.5"
Swaybar relocator
Monster Rides shockies
Dobsinsons 2" rear heavy duty springs
Greaseable shackles

Yeah mate, everything you need comes with it.
Yeah - I couldn't be happier with it hey! If I had the extra money I would've loved to gave gone a diff drop kit and UCA's and put the car that little bit higher, but how capable the car currently is made me think, meh, why spend the extra money. It goes everywhere I put it

It's awesome gear aye. I've got the diff drop and ucas though and one thing I did notice over just the setup you have is its a bit nicer to turn and drive and a tad more droop. Although the ucas are designed to move the balljoint/uniball back a touch to re-align the spindle which means you loose some clearance to the back of the guards and now my 32's scrub. No biggie though just going to cut it.

Utes looking sick though man got to catch up with you soon and go for a wheel

Yeah man, tell me about it. I wish I had the money to get it. But I'm super happy with where it is and I think I would rather spend 2k and buy a locker rather than spend the extra 1.2k on suspension haha.

Yeah man we are hitting up Janowen at the end of the month. Got about 14ish + cars heading down. Gonna split into two groups so it doesn't take forever haha. Most are going down on the 31st (Friday night). I gotta work Saturday morning, so I won't be down till Saturday lunch but you can come and bring some mates if you are keen.

Yeah mate I've done them. Sorry have been meaning to take a picture but keep forgetting haha.

Sway bar relocators are a maybe. Mine was rubbing on the coilovers so I got them. All it does is move the swaybar down and pull it forward a bit. I got them when j bought the kit just incase I needed them. Pretty sure they were only like 50 bucks or something. In the end they were worth it for me :)

hey jaydo your build is coming along awesomely. looks the goods
what did you use to wrap your bonnet? ive recently put a lightbar on my roofrack and the glare off the bonnet is annoying so im looking at a matt black vinyl wrap to dull it down some.
do you have some more pics of yours from the front?
cheers,
shaun

Hey Shaun,

I haven't actually wrapped the bonnet, all I've done is put some black stickers on the scoop and put a bonnet protector on. I think that's the only black I have on the front haha. If you still want some pictures I can send some through, but I'll assure you it's white haha.

jaydo wrote:Another eventful day working on the car. Installed my angel lights which was pretty straight forward. Just went straight into the existing wiring. Also finished making my grille. All that is left to do is get my "TOYOTA" badge for the front of it. Will look great when my bullbar eventually gets done. Still waiting on buds, but it will be worth the wait!

Just standard mate. I was gonna go extended shackles and wind the front to about 4", but it was gonna cost too much to do the suspension and I would much rather spend the same money buying a locker or something that will get me more places

rds_929,

I've turned the wheels so I could get a picture of the swaybar relocator and swaybar clearance for you. Makes the CV open up a little bit as you can see it is still relatively level. 2.5" doesn't hurt the angle at all.

Here is a picture of the tiny little spacer for the swaybar relocator. Keep in mind that my swaybar was hitting the coils before this went it. Its amazing what a little 2mm thick piece of alloy can do.
