Well I got the call today that my new SR extra cab hilux has been delivered at the dealer which means I pick it up next week! So why not start a build thread hey.

2014 SR extra cab
- Ozmac steel tray
- ARB deluxe bar
- Safari Snorkel
- OME 2 inch lift
- Tinted bonnet protector
- Floor mats
- Headlight protectors

To do list.
- UHF

- ARB Rock sliders
- DP Chip (if warranty isn't affected)
- Underbody protection
- Winch
- Dual batteries
- Window tint
- secondary fuel filter

Well guys I have been f***ing flat out at work and just haven't had a chance to setup my photo bucket account! I picked the new ute up yesterday lift kit on it and all! I'm really happy with it sure is comfortable to drive compared to the old LN106. I'll be making an account and uploading some photos tomorrow! But so far everything is great! I'm thinking I'll get a set of spring spacers in the front just to level it up a bit and after that will be getting a good set of muddies for sure! The cheese cutters just don't look the part haha

By time you load the back up for your cape trip trust me you will not need to lift up the front any more, more so you will need to get your rear leafs re- set

okay so Iv made a little progress... firstly I had a set of Hella Rallye 4000 spotlights with 35w internal HID kits fitted. They were good but not as good as i expected. I pulled my Narva led light bar off my LN106, bought some brackets from supercheap. This is the end result.

Here is my switch panel with some good narva rocker switches

And here is my UHF all fitted, used the hide away type UHF and the box is zip tied up behind the glove box

Iv also been looking at some wheels, here are 2 sets that i liked, let me know your opinions!!

Hahaha matt. I can't even give those damn things away! Planning on building my own rock sliders.
Has anyone had trouble fitting 16 inch wheels on a 2014 model? All wheels shops seem to thing they will be fine but a friends of mine said he could only get 17s to fit on his?

I have a 2014 and the caliper is very, very close to the rim. Haven't tried to measure the clearance but it looks like less than 1/2 " to my eye. If you used 16s and buggered around with lots of negative offset and keeping the well and the weld way out from the centreline. you might be able to make it work. Personally, I don't intend to bother with the mucking around and the tradeoffs (and it still might not fit).

There is a pretty good selection of 17" tyres available and the selection will surely increase as bigger brakes and 17s become the norm.

Perhaps that might be the case... Did Toyota go with bigger brakes on the 2014? I just hate the thought of paying nearly $100 a tyre extra because they are 17 inch!!
