I love my ultimate suspension. My good gear first don't have to replace it just parts. I've done 20 thousand on my suspension and will be doing new bushes in January. They recommend them every 20thousand. All the best with the install

Geesus, I woulda shit bricks. Any tips to prevent that (besides shitloads of electrical tape), the last thing I want is me sprinting for a fire extuinguiser

Martin - you're right, there's two in the amp aswell.
Might give it another quick go over the weekend if I get time.

That is the main reason I fitted a fire extinguisher behind my seat saves running when all my electrical skills show there head   :?

Good looking rig to mate I like the flush fitting cover, mate has that on his Colorado looks A hell of a lot better than to old looping rope.

Just got the Aussie Ryder, didn't know the difference till after I ordered 'em. But think the Aussie ryders will be fine, most of my drivings on road so don't think i'd get the most out of the Monotubes.

No one told me about the bush replacements.
I've done 20 thousand k's (due to avoiding stupid tolls) since May.. i'll be going through 'em pretty quick. I'll just get the mech to do it with my services I think.

I have extinguisher tucked under the passenger seat.. still trying to work out where to mount it. Have you actually bolted it up anywhere? Can you share a pic if you have please?

Thanks mate, I still check out the cover on a daily basis, I love it. 8-)

Ahh nice! Too bad I don't have that kind of set up, that'd work a treat.

So today I found out my spotties are no longer working. No idea why, fuse is good, but no power seems to be going to the switch I don't think (it's not lighting up). Might have to get the guy who wired 'em up to check em out.

On the other hand, because i'm so impatient, I went to a mates and put in the lift kit. Took us a few hours, and then got the wheel alignment straight after.

Drives like a dream now. I'm surprised at how much of a difference some better suspension makes.

The work in progress:

All finished. Also surprised at the difference 2" can make.

The wheels look so small now though, need to get my wheels sorted asap! 8-)

Jay

Thanks 'rota. Yeah I was surprised.
I was waiting for something to break.. my mates a little on the chubbier side than I am, but it paid off

So I had a bit of a hiccup over the holiday break, which was extremely stupid, though it should result in a new Axis bar shortly 8-).

Need to go get the bashplate, and going to order an engine guard soon to go with it, and possibly MR's recovery points if they're still doing 'em.

Also gonna look at winches soon, possibly nothing too expensive though, probably a Tigerz11 Grande or Domin8or or something. Still need to do a bit more research, but look like value for money. Anyone got input on these?

Also got my money reinbursed for my 4terrain clutch by my leasing company, so now to look at putting that towards wheels and tyres. Looking at Sunraysia's 15x8 w/ 32" Cooper ST Maxx or those new Mickey's ATz P3. Some mates are telling me to just get a set of muddies and use the normal wheels every day, but I don't want to have to keep changing shit up every few weekends, and personally don't like the look of my lux with the stock wheels on now. I'd end up leaving the muddies on and wearing 'em out way too quick.

Things are happening
Cheers,
Jay

What happened to your bar?

keen to see how you go with the plasti dip, i might just spray chrome parts.

onto the winch, iv never owned one so cant realy give the best advice.
But have you looked into the WARN Magnum, its cheap and ARB will help out with parts if need be anywhere in AUS. I have read some people being pissed around by tigerz for parts. Again only what iv read.

I done everything I knew I shouldn't do, and gave the car a new mod. I call it Face-off.

We were all drinking away while camping and a mate and I went out for a night cruise through the bush (Prob the first mistake since i'd been drinking). I got bogged, and my mate who's supposedly had experience 4wheel driving tried to get me out. Few of our mates have recovery points on their winch-bars of their Patrols, but of course.. they're re-enforced.
My biggest rule was never snatch from a bullbar, but since he'd been out a lot more than me, and I had been drinking, I doubted myself against what he was saying and was like.. "yeah she'll be right". (f$@#&%' stupid idea that was). Since the tie downs were completely burried under the car and my recovery points havn't come yet, he put his snatch around my bar.. and next thing you know, I'm sitting in the car looking at my bullbar sitting up vertically.

He had to go grab a mate who actually does have experience and come get me out.

The mate who ripped the bar off, is paying my excess, his step-dad manages a panel shop though, said to just put a claim through insurance and give him the details and he'll sort it all. Said he'll upgrade the bar for me too, so going to get the Axis put on.

Was just frustrating that I knew not to do it, and still did, kind of like being a drunken idiot looking at a fire and thinking, i'll just jump in that. Lesson learned the hard way.

Ahwell, i'm not complaining though, I wasn't going to get the bar and winch for another yr or two, so it's worked out in my favor. 8-)

Having a look at the Magnum winches now. They're cheaper than I expected, I just assumed WARN was top dollar for everything
Cheers,
Jay
