Calums 2013 hilux sr dual cab 2013 build

Postby calummcilwain on Thu, 14 Nov 2013 7:30 +0000

Hey guys and girls,

I recently purchased a new dual cab hilux i have been on this forum for a while but have never posted anything i have just upgraded from a kzn165 single cab hilux which was a fairly capable hilux. i have booked my new hilux in for the following modifications while I'm away for work though opposite lock,

2 inch tuff dog lift
flares
safari snorkle
bullbar and mako winch
Underbody Protection Guards
50w light force xgt 240s on the bulbar
42inch led light bar on the head board of the tray
erps rust protection
overhead console with uhf
dual battery system red arc dc/dc
70l slim line water tank under the tray
hayman and reece tow bar

things i want to do to it sometime next year are either arb air lockers or eaton lockers and a chip and exhaust probably tipan xp maybe a awning and a roof top tent but unsure of the roof top tent idea still making my mind up setting this ute up to keep for a while so might as well spend the money in one hit and use it instead of doing what i did with my last ute i had it for 5 year kitted it out then moved it on for a newer model.

Looks tough, you got the front raised higher? It has a real nice stance.
Cheers,

Thanks guys looking at getting some more mods done in the new year ive spent 15k on it i got all there accessories fitted while i was at worki just dont have the time to fit everything anymore, it rides so must better than standard with all the extras.

looking at getting scrub bars for the side with side steps
front and rear lockers
breather kit
2nd fuel filter
reverse lights
im not to sure about the chip and exhaust yet im thinking of just putting 2 grand of diesel in the car instead and going exploring

there is not much glare at all from the light bar i got it mounted there just for car parks and low lying trees where i go pighunting

hey guys have done a few more extra things to my hilux
*mounted my dog cage i modified the dog cage on the back it hangs over the back of the tray and has a permanent rear shelf used as a jerry can holder/axe/ high lift jack/ chainsaw holder.
*fitted 4 lights one light inside the cage, a reverse light and one light for each side all led
*a side awning 2x2.5 with the led light inside
*fitted the extended breathers

things to come are
accessory plugs on the tray for the fridge
eaton e locker for the front
12v anderson plug to the towbar for the trailer 2x n70 batteries mounted in the toolbox (im not really sure if i should jump those wires off the second battery or not it will only be charging when the car is driving then trailer will be uncoupled when iam camping than ran off solar power if needed.

things to come for the trailer are,

*wire up the dual batteries
*anderson coupling plug
*accessory plug combo for the fridge
*inverter unsure of the size yet
*roof top tent on adjustable slides so quad can still fitted then dropped down to keen the centre of gravity reasonably low.
* extra diesel tank and water tank fitted under the tray for those long trips

Hey bud how much did you pick up the opposite lock bullbar for? Since you have to either sell drugs or your ass for a arb one im thinking of going either OL or MCC.
