Haha yeah, not sure how I would go getting them to fit when I only have a 2". I thought that to fit 285's you would need closer to 3? I know what your saying and I have contemplated it in my head a million times and still can't figure out what I want. Haha

About the tray, send Stef a message, apparent ally it one of his mates patrol. He was going to talk to him about it for me but I didn't follow it up. Haha

Stefs no longer on this thing...

And yeah it doesnt hurt to have UCA's and castor adjustment, but ive heard people getting away without even a bodymount chop. so even if ya had to just trim it (mightn be your cup of t, which is fair enough) but the way i see it is it cost exactly $0 to trim it haha. and when you're on the bump stop it doesnt matter whether youve got stock suspension or 4", your tire is still gona stuffed in there just as hard. I'll be honest i never tried 33's, just went 31's to 35's in one step. But read up on that fitting 33's thread. not that much too it. I'd be buying em and doing the minimum possible to make it fit. Just my opinion.

I wish i had bought the 35's ages ago and just made em fit hahaha

Yeah thinking back I did hear that. It's a shame.

Yeah, I don't mind doing some chopping here and there. I only have some cheese cutters on at the moment so I think I will start with the 265's and then maybe just go straight to 35's. haha just need something on ASAP.

Hey Diezel45.

I went from the the stockies to 31’s before I had a lift and it looked heaps better. Now that I have a lift installed (3" front - 2" rear) I was worried that the 31’s would look lost in the wheel well, but its bearable.
I'm going to stick with it for as long as I can to avoid prematurely dropping the cash on a new set of treads, like wakil said.
If I can get a set of Prado diffs around the same time that tyres are due ill jump up in size, but for now I'm happy with the fuel economy and ride of the smaller wheels.

Stick with it mate and enjoy the new shoes!

Aww yeah, cheers Barny.
Yeah I'm thinking ill just start with them and wear these out and then start really building a beast. I'll get the 265's for now so that I can still go offroad until I can afford the MR Rekon kit, once I get that I'll seriously think about putting 35's on and building an offroad weapon.
What supsension are you using?
Cheers

Hey mate
I'm running RAW shocks and king springs up front with RAW and EFS leafs at the back. Sold as a 2" all round lift but that the moment (a while after fitting) still sitting 98mm higher in the front, about 4"! looks nice :) I'm sure it will bed down a bit but do you reckon it will drop a full 50mm?
Whats the configuration with the Rekon kit?

Aww right, when i put mine in it lifted it to about 3 1/2" and then dropped down to about 2 1/4 after a couple of months. it changes alot between different brands of shocks, springs and even from car to car so its hard to say what yours will settle at.

the Rekon kit is fully adjustable. can be taken anywhere from 2" to 6" although they highly recommend you dont go any higher then 3 or 4. apparentally it is the best gear getting around but cant comment on personal experience.

Hey buddy I recently just did tyres and lift, went monster rides stage 2 rekon 3inch kit, and I am running 265/75/r16 bfg km2. It's been like a month and I already want 285 hahahaha, I have no idea what 285 would be like to drive on road, I think it would rob a fair few horses, don't get me wrong though the 32s are really good on road, but if I had my time again I'd go 33s. And get a chip to compensate power loss.
Just my 2 cents
Also 35s are a seriously big tyre to run on a lux. Requires big torque to turn em. And everything has more mechanical stress on it. 285 is like the happy medium

yeah, im leaning more towards the 285. although that will need a regear. I was only getting 265's cause I only have a 2" lift but a couple of people have made 285's with a 2" work so I thought I might give it a go.
thanks for the input! :)

Just a small update. Driving home yesterday and the lux started just surging and going crazy, pulled over and it stalled instantly as if it was out of diesel but I knew I had heaps. Managed to convince the old man to come and give me a tow home and changed the fuel filter. Immediate fix. The old filter was only 8,000kms old and this is what it looks like.

Safe to say I'm going to change where I am getting my diesel from. That's terrible, especially how it's less then 10,000kms old.

Less then 10000km old and your using a ryco filter. Gen toyota all the way.
I have done suction tests on the toyota filter and the ryco filter. Both suppose ably the same micron. And from bran new the ryco filer has a higher suction result only 2 psi of setting the suction warning light off
Just my two cents.

And I have been told the toyota filter is cheaper by many people

That filter was less then 10,000kms old. I have gone to a gen Toyota one now. Should have done that from the start. Gen Toyota one was $49 and the ryco one was $15. So a bit of a price difference but I will be using gen Toyota from now on for all my filters.

That Ryco one looks cheap compared to the genuine Toyota one. Ryco are normally pretty good though?
I do my fuel filter every 60000ks. Seems to be nearly full and has done its job. I monitor fuel using a glass bowl separator and filter, I've found a good servo that supplies consistent and clean diesel and always fill up there.

Yeah, I'm gonna do the same thing. Find a place that sells quality diesel. It's not worth the risk anymore.

Was filling up from the local one. I live in a town of about 1,000 people and it's just a general store sort of thing. Not sure what brand it is though.
Will now be taking the 20 min drive to wodonga to get something proper.
