Yeah, if i'd discovered the issue before I chopped and painted the bar itself, I could've got my money back, but I am getting some back, so not a total loss if I can't get the brackets.

Depends on how handy you are with a grinder and welder.
I would buy a generic hilux winch bar mount. Mcc etc....and mod it to suit if needed.
Contact mcc direct and go from there.
I have plenty of pics of mounts for these bars if you need them.
Ive got to strengthen my mounts up as they are piss poor for its intended purpose.

Well I know which end of the grinder to hold, so i'm not too bad with that, but I have zero welding skills (will have to rectify that one day), so i'm limited to what can be bought off the shelf...

I've actually been looking at the mounts of all the name brand bars, and I haven't found one remotely close to what I need, although I haven't seen Ironman's mounts.

Had a day off today, and all the tools I needed were finally here, so I put the snorkel on this arvo.

It's not completely finished, as the fact that it's not made for a V6 became apparent in the final step... Hooking it up to the air filter.

I'm going to fit a CAI, so it's not an issue for me, I just made a temporary join, and will keep it out of the water in the meantime, but if it were going on this engine, retaining the original airbox, you would likely need a custom silicone bend at the end there.

This shot shows the not quite compatible meeting of snorkel and intake. (the plastic tube on the right has a hiclone style set of fins moulded into the end closest to the snorkel outlet, it's not a straight through tube).

Fixed up my snorkel issue, so it functions as a snorkel until I fit a new airbox.

I also made a start on fitting dual batteries using a road runner offroad tray. Although I'm thinking of fitting rubber washers to its mounts as extra protection for the guard. (No, those relays on the right are not staying, and i'll reposition that computer thingy when I have a battery in there and know how much space I have to play with).

Im in the process of buying a bullbar, and as always its come down to budget, how much did this set back/what is the company or seller on ebay?

The seller I purchased from no longer deals with bullbars (a good thing, I wouldn't want anyone else to have the hassle I did)

I paid $500 for mine, but the seller was just trying to get rid of them, it was an auction with a buy it now price around $750 I think.

The closest I can find would be this one:

Not that it really helps unless you can organise delivery.

But if you keep an eye on ebay, searching for 'Hilux Bullbar' you're bound to find something closer to home.

I have a rubber joining elbow that may suit the petrol models.
It has a slight bend in it.
Is approx 90mm one end
and 100mm the other.

It came with one of those $100 snorkel kits off ebay. I didn't need it for the diesel. It is allegedly the fitting for the petrol model.

That would probably do the job, the snorkel exit is 90mm, and the plastic hiclone thingy that I removed would be close to 100mm on the end near the guard, it would just need a few bits filed down so the silicone tube could get a good seal. That would also leave the duckbill valve water release on the bottom of it, that I no longer have.

I've been thinking about removing the canopy since I bought the lux, as I find it a hindrance 90% of the time, and I finally got around to it. Got the tonneau from ute covers direct, easy to fit, and the holes for the sports bar were already there, so that was childs play.

No pics yet, but with my reduced budget I opted to buy an Xrox for the Lux, ordered it through Monster Rides, it arrived yesterday, and I fitted it today.

Only issue I had was that i'm going to need to buy a big drill bit, or a metal file, as my driving light mounting bolts are a fraction too big for the holes in the bar, and the Xrox skid plate doesn't quite line up with the holes in the factory plate (only about 1mm out, but enough to stop the bolt from getting started).

I'll post some pics when I sort out those issues.

I also fitted a set of Depo lights, fitted with PIAA Night Tech globes on low beam and Osram All Season globes on high beam.

I pity the next person to take that skid plate off and have to refit it, but it's finally all attached, minus the wiring - I just couldn't be bothered at the moment.

But here's the finished product :)

Got the wiring done today, these three shots show my low beam, high beam, then high beam with the LED's, despite the sky, the laneway was dark and i'm very happy with the output.

Haha, Murphy has his eye on me for sure!

Nice sunny day all morning, I take the car round the back, unpack the lights, open the tool box, loosen the bolts, and down comes the rain...

I did have enough time to realise that I'll need longer bolts with spacers though, because my lights go straight forward above the bolts, and the XROX mounting tab is on the lower edge of the tube.

Now I remember why I didn't try to stay in the accessory fitting industry when the Lithgow 4wd shop closed down.

Some purely cosmetic upgrades done, new led lights on the rear, in the 2011+ design (which I like better than the 05-11 versions)

I also fitted some COB DRL's to the Xrox, not yet wired up because I'm waiting on a delivery of nutserts so I can mount my relays properly (engine bay wiring is looking a little amateurish at the moment).

They're 285/75R16 Pro Comp XTerrains on 16x8 0 offset Gecko steelies (was going to get alloys, but couldn't find a set I liked, so that was moved to the backburner.

You may also notice that when I touched up the paint on my front bumper I got carried away with the spray can and painted my side steps in satin black, I think it looks good.

For my own records, these were fitted at roughly 105,000km on the ODO.

How much do they hang out with your 33's and a 0 offset? Still trying to decide if I want to upgrade from my 32's haha.

Looking along the side, the tread is actually just covered by the flares, only the bulge of the sidewall comes out past them.
