Nick's 13 SR5

Well I have finally recieved some parts to make it worthwhile to start a build thread. Got a delivery from monster rides this morning containing buds customs slider, diff bash plate, front bash plate and transfer case mount/bash plate.

So got stuck in this morning removing all the standard gear and got it all installed. Was a bit awkward doing the sliders and tcase mount as I was working by myself but managed to get it all sorted. All up was pretty straight forward and ended up taking about 4 hours of leisurely wrenching.

Still waiting for the courier to get the buds customs front and rear bars to me, they were holding all this gear since the 20th of july without contacting me to pick it up so hopefully they don't do the same with the bars. Then hopefully the taxman is nice to me and I can get the lift sorted in the next few months.

Cheers guys, is slowly coming together as funds allow. Have ordered the plate style front bar with triple hoops and the plate style rear bar with tow bar. Will definitely post up when its all fitted.

looks great mate ive been considering those side sliders or similiar for a while as the stock alloy ones hang so low ... BUT ... how do you find them for providing a foot placement? ie can you stand on them easily enough without a foot slipping through /off / under (and tearing an ankle) ?

I ask as have tried lux without them and we definately missed them (back on) , especially when mrs pregant, young kids, frail mother (who comes on 4wd trips occasionally) etc.

Yeah Qwerty, I have the same concerns - but there's a fella on here who asked Bud to have his sliders come straight out for more of a step for his kids - looks great, reckon I'll go this way too....

his pic right at the bottom...

Hey mate, I've had no issues using them as steps, but I'm 6 foot 4 so basically step straight over them anyway lol.
I know buddy is usually happy to make changes to the design of his products to suit customers needs so I'm sure he can sort something out to suit you.
Haven't done any more mods to the hilux yet, have been spending the money on my 260z instead lol. Should be done spending on the 260z for a while now so will hopefully be able to start on the suspension etc on the hilux. That being said I recieved a reverse camera from Carbon Car Systems today so will get that installed over the weekend.

sweet cheers mate ... my main concern is around the young tackers (who love to jump on the side , bounce, have fun and generally just be kids) ... could see a small foot / leg going through one of the gaps , falling backward and costing daddy an expensive trip to the vet.

You can get them with infills Qwerty, solves all the problems, also protects the sill and bottom of the doors from rocks, sticks and other general 4bying flying debris. There's pics of them in my build.

perfect shall take a look.

The alloy sills do me OK beacause I dont bash my car (too) much but they look fairly crap and have taken a bit of a beating so a few bends, plus they rattle like granddad at a stripper show.

Long time coming but have started doing some work to the hilux.
New stereo, alpine x801d-u headunit, alpine PDX V9 and PDX M12 amps, alpine spx17pro and spr60 speakers and 2 rockford fosgate T1S2-12 subs behind the rear seats. Apart from the head unit and tweeters nothing in the stereo is visible so real happy with that. Also got an alpine camera selector so can run up to 3 cameras through the head unit. Currently have reverse camera installed, and will be installing a reverse camera on my trailer, and possibly a front view camera as well.
Matrix suspension kit installed with diff drop kit, adjustable upper control arms and sway bar relocation kit. Still playing with the adjustment in the shocks but really happy with how they perform.
Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 rims with 265/70 r17 coopers st maxx tyres. Toyota tpms system installed but not yet setup, as one sensor was broken during install and waiting for replacement to arrive.
Secondary fuel filter kit and dual battery system, with battery currently under the bonnet but looking to relocate battery to the tray soon.
MR led light bar brackets with 42 inch venom 4x4 curved light bar. Still need to wire up the light bar, have ordered a snorkel from buds customs and am waiting for it to arrive to run wiring for the light bar along snorkel. Also have extended shackles coming from buds to give a little lift in the rear. Currently still got standard rear springs so no lift there yet. Will adjust height in the front to suit rear with new shackles installed.
Have also gotten windows tinted and got black timber window switch surrounds off ebay to better match the black stereo surround that came with the head unit. Have 2 lightforce ROK 40 led lights to install in the bullbar and 2 ROK 20 led to install as reverse lights in the near future. Also have 2 toyota brand tool boxes to install in the tray, one of which I hope to modify to hold the 2nd battery.ImageImageImageImageImageImage

How do you find the tweeters in the sails?
