Shaggys Build - Spare wheel carrier

Well I don't have the talent a lot of you guys have but here's mine anyway.

I bought a Brand New 2012 SR Hilux, Auto, Air-con (Why is this still an option).
Because where I bought it do the minecorp vehicles I also got an ARB Deluxe Bull Bar, Flares and Safari Snorkel.
I also got them to organize a 2m long tray x 1.8m with a slide out ramp underneath.

Before I even took delivery I went around to Gitsham to check the dealer was doing what I asked, luckily because they fitted a Toyota bar after getting in a argument with the manager he apologized and fitted the correct bar.

Don't mind my brothers playing on the car.

The first weekend I had it I installed my GME UHF TX3540 under passenger seat and aerial and tested out my ramp.
Image

A couple of weekends later I installed second battery, Narva 225 HID and Voltmeter with three way switch and some rear work lights.
Image
Image

Then went for a weekend away by myself.

Got an early morning on the Sunday, my sleeping mat had a leak so couldn't sleep.

Just for fun and cause the standard wheels have to go I fitted my mates Patrol rims for a week and in doing that I couldn't put the original pizza cutters back so I have ordered some black 16x7 with a +20 offset and fitting BF Goodrich A/T 265/70/16 as I can't afford a lift yet, will post pics as soon as my wheels get here.

Just a phone shot of patrol rims.
Image

Also this week finishing off my storage area in the back with the seats removed will post some up when I can.

Sorry if there's to many photos but that's another passion of mine along with my bikes (2007 Suzuki DRZ 400E, 2010 Honda CBR1000RR and 2011 Suzuki DL650 V-Strom)

Just thought of a couple more things got a Tray Tool Box made from checker plate and also would like to thank the members for some brilliant ideas so far my favorite cheapest mod is the power window relay powered by the key beeper (talk about killing two annoying birds with on stone).

Yeah it aint to bad it was my first bike and its now done over 45,000Km I don't know of to many others that can do that with no reliability issues, I spend most of my time over the Murray Sunset National Park with it so I got used to sand fairly quickly. Cant wait for the 6th-7th heading over there again and get to test out the tray with two bikes in it.

Well here's the latest I finished my rear storage area removed the rear seats (no kids) and made a few templates up then cut and glued the board then covered all with marine carpet, there's a 42lt water tank up against the back of the cab, three sets of plastic draws, storage for recovery gear and compressor next to draws, room for fridge with tie down points and first aid kit and fire extinguisher on the outside came up pretty good even if I do say so myself.

Also got around to fitting the All Terrain Recover Points just had to do a little notch in the splash guard to accommodate the bolt (slightly off center) and a slightly bigger hole for one of the mounting screws.
Image

And here's a few of the tool box I got a little while ago I mounted some plastic draws in there and bought appropriately sized plastic containers for all the other crap.

Well I got my wheels I ended up getting 16x8 with a +20 offset as I couldn't find any 16x7 with a +20 in my price range.
Also got BF Goodrich A/T 265/70/16.

45,000km Good stuff. They are almost indestructible. Shows what happens when you build somthing solid and without the new fandangled bells and whistles that it will outlast alot of this latest tecnology.

Lux is looking very tidy to 8-)

Yeah that was the main reason I bought it, it'll never win a race but at least you know it will always get you to the end then you can ride it home and still not worry about it.
I'm assuming you ride what do you have.

And thanks to you and everyone else shes taking shape now next major thing is lift kit not sure whether to go for Tough Dog or the Monster Rides kit, at this stage I'm leaning towards the Monster Rides hopefully with DMS Coilovers if my funds agree with it.

100% true bud, they may not win on the flats but gee they show their bottom end power in the mountains. Mates all ride wr's and kx's and on steep climbs constantly on the clutch. Yer I ride a 07 DRZ and love it. Not a lot of Flat stuff but mainly ride up in the watagans.

I use a Canon 15-85mm as my always on lens.

At the minute until I can afford my own I'm borrowing my parents 60lt Waceo.
