Streaker175 build up...

Postby Streaker_175 on Tue, 12 Mar 2013 1:06 +0000

Hi all, just want to start with a massive thanks. I've had 5 long months of waiting since ordering my hilux, so had plenty of time to research mods and gear for my new ride. Posted a small hello when I first joined but this is my first real post.

I'll load up some pics soon but here is the list I ordered it with and what's been done so far ... ( Hope I'm doing this right)

2013 SR5 dual cab - man Diesel
SILVER

Front and rear ARB air lockers
Full canvas seat covers
ARB Delux winch bar and scrub rails
Tow pack
Bonnet/headlight/windshields

So within the first hour of getting it home, those buzzers had already started doing my head in.
So they were the first mod.

Next was the install of my UHF, undien with the controls on the mic.
Then it was winch, MEAN MOTHER 9500 a bit of stuffing around making spacers for the Hawse fairlead, but got there.
Tyres on; Mickey T's MTZ 265/70R17

Also have fitted a set of FYRLYTs to the front,
After testing against a mates lightforce HIDs I highly recommend them to anyone who asks. Absolutely pit the $850 HIDs to shame. ( I was so happy LOL. )

All this achieved in 2 days of owning the car. Not possible without the help of this forum. Thank you all

Image Welcome Rob, congrats on your Hilux.

Front and rear lockers straight up :D plan on doing some serious off road stuff, or you have some serious fishing spots   Nice work on the mod list, make sure you start up a build thread, as I suspect this one will turn into a weapon of a truck

Thanks Rocket, yeah thought I'd try and get as much done straight up otherwise the $'s are hard to come by for wish lists.

Have got a few good spots and have been stuck on my own on more than one occasion. Hence the winch and lockers.

Should be making a start on the tray within a few weeks.

Well it'll be more for camping/touring. Still working on a design but want to be able to remove the entire top on my own... (just leaving the head board)

I've been looking at a few on here but still throwing up a few ideas.

hey mate i just ordered one :) getting a few extras straight up also, what are the tyres like? (Mickey Ts)
Also just wondering if you are going to lift it? and fit bigger tyres? i have heard it can be a headache because of the stability control etc

cheers Pat

Nope, plenty of late model ESC vehicles running 2-3" lift and 33's withou any issues.

The Mickey thompsons seem ok so far, but have only had them on road. A little noisy compared to my last set of MUDs but I'm not complaining. At the moment I am running a little bigger ( by my calculations a 32 inch) tire but that fits mine without a lift and I haven't had it scrub yet. Lift will go in as soon as my patrol sells and tops up the bank balance. Will be going a MR REKON Kit.

Those are by no means small mods mate. Looking great.
You don't have to start a new post for each picture by the way, you can put multiple pictures together in one post with comments to suit.
Cheers,

I can't wait to get the tub off and new tray built so I don't have to worry about scratching the tub... It'll be for sale as soon as tray is built... 6 weeks Ish....

Also will be getting rid of front and rear bumpers, side steps and sports bar if anyone is interested. Will put into classifieds soon
