Hey so over the past 18 months iv been gradually building up my hilux. Bought in 2011 completely stock, but now im pretty happy with it! got a few more things on my list for it but for now, here it is:

Straight up i went straight to the tinting shop and got 5% tint installed on back and side windows.
Next thing was the 20's. Picked them up for a good price but were only temporary until i scrambled up enough cash for new wheels.

Next I lowered it with superlow king spring coils in the front (2inch drop) and 3 inch blocks in the rear with a 1inch tray drop
I then did some spray painting of the grille, LED lights, and of the mirrors all white
Also installed a fog light kit and a 35W HID headlight kit at 10,000k
This is also about the time i had the Cat-back exhaust system done.

Image

Next came the 22's, along with the rest of the exhaust system in preparation for the supercharger. I got pacemaker headers with pre-cat deleted, 2.5" pipe headers back.

Then came the airbag rear setup. Its only "air-over-leaf" so its basically just a load assist kit, but i managed to mod it a bit so i can get it to sit on bumpstops at bottom, and can get about 5" lift.
The original air tank and compressor setup came with pneumatic controlled pressure but the air lines were too long, giving it a fairly slow response, so i moved the compressor and air tank to directly over the rear axel, hooked up to electric controlled air solenoids, meaning my air lines are kept to a minimal length. The response to fill and dump is dramatically faster!
The ride quality from these bags have also dramatically increase compared to standard leaf springs. Its a lot smoother on bumps, and doesnt bounce around as much. This is only possible if you remove a few of the leaf springs so the airbag can take most of the hits. The remaining leafs are basically there to just hold the axel in place and provide a bit of support to the airbag.
These ones are rated to carry up to 2000lb. I dont really use my ute to carry anything too heavy. Usually just my tools and occasionally a dirtbike. However if you were wondering how well they hold up, once or twice iv loaded it up to about 600kg no worries and still had heaps of clearance and handled great (with only two leafs).

And most recently came the fully inter-cooled centrifugal supercharger system from Raptor Superchargers running about 6psi boost. The kit took me a couple of hours to instal. Unfortunately i havnt been able to drive it yet as it is currently being tuned up, so i cant give exact figures for a few days but will hopefully get a ridiculous amount of power out of it! :)

Are you worried about axel wrap with the minimal springs and extra grunt?

Ye iv definately thought about that. Il have to see how it goes I guess but I think it should be ok I hope haha. A 4-link rear is probably the best option but I'm not too sure if its on the cards for a while. Any ideas?

you can get bolt in 2 link trailing arm kits like what a falcon ute has...you will 100% get axle tramp when you put the foot down

Fark yeah that sc is a nice fit. I would love one in mine... But not sure if it would cope with too much mud and water getting thrownat it :o

Havnt done an update for a while but here are a few new things i have added to her over the past few months.

After the supercharger went on, only a matter of days later, the clutch couldnt handle the power and shat itself. By the time i actually got it to the clutch shop a few days later, it could barely hold 2nd gear :D
Got an excedy heavy duty clutch installed and new flywheel (which is absolutely awesome to drive with).

Got out the grinder and hacked in a turbo-diesel style bonnet scoop. Why not just buy a whole new TD bonnet you may ask? basically i just wanted the scoop to be centred rather than the slightly off centre diesel model bonnet. Its basically just a wank really, but im sure it might help with a tiny bit of cooling :D

Then i went on ebay in search of a new grille. I ended up purchasing the TRD style one thinking it looked good in the photos, but when i received it (about 8 weeks later), it was so cheap and tacky that i didnt want it to go on the hilux. So i decided to make my own. Got an old second hand grille off a mate, and started hacking, bogging, sanding, bogging, sanding, etc etc. until i finally painted it just last week.

Got some sign writing done for company publicity :) But this is it in its current state

Thanks man! Possibly in the future. Got pretty keen on the idea at one stage. drew up plans for it and everything. But was going to cost a lot and seemed a lot of effort so the idea kinda cooled off.

Good job with the grille mate.

I also got one of those TRD style grilles, can't believe how flimsy they are!
I've got a mate who is gonna fibreglass it up on the inside and I'm gonna reinforce the top with aluminium flatbar, and see how it goes.

Well i can give you some sort of indication: Im a fairly heavy footed driver a lot of the time, but my everyday city driving i get about 16L/100. This didnt change a lot from stock, at all for me.
The main difference is on the highway. On the stock engine, id get about the same fuel economy city and highway. After supercharger, I get about 13L/100, again thats with a fairly heavy foot (just cause i love overtaking people up hills etc cause i can and its so easy :D )
Im sure if you were a conservative driver you would get heaps better, but then again, if you are a conservative driver i wouldn't really recommend the supercharger kit :D
