Do you happen to have an after shot of the clearance after the castor adjust/alignment?

I will once it's gets done. It goes into pro axle on the 21st. There was a 3 week wait just to get an alignment so their expertise is well sort after. Hope it's worth the wait.

Interested to see how they go on the aligment mate.

Sooo... got the alignment on Friday....

It's better (and it'd wanna be for $176) but it's still going to rub on the body mount under compression at full lock. It's better now in that I can turn lock to lock on flat ground without it rubbing but that just won't do.

Does this mean I'll need upper contol arms to get the clearance I need or will this be a non issue once it's lifted?

Cheers

Dan.

(this is all speculation on my part)
But, unless you limit uptravel, your still going to rub on the body mount under full compression, as the tyre will still travel up just as far.

An upgraded UCA would give you better castor adjustment, and [as I've read] that is what you need to bring the wheel forward more.

Dan just looked at your last few posts have you thought about doing the body mount mod'?
I did it to a hilux the other week as amitch888 suggested and honestly you could not tell it wasnt factory. It eliminated the rubbing on full lock and compression (that was before it went off road) the only other thing that vehicle needs doing is the pinch weld mod as is still touches on that. FWIW

I'd see how you go with after the rekon kit, how much lift are you getting it at? truck looks awesome btw!

If you do need to get it re-engineered in QLD (hopefully not for the $) can you let me know who you use?

If your comfortable trimming the mount do that. Else UCA's are the final option.

Haha! Yeah work is shifting me up to western Brizzy at the end of this year so I get to break free of this stupid state for a while.
Yeah I'm keen for a few beers and and some driving :D
I'm taking the missus and my dirt bike up to chichester forest weekend after next for a few days for some camping, driving, riding and stuff. Got a few other mates keen to join us as well so if you guys wanna tag along your welcome to
:)
I'll probably put the 33"s back on before we go  it's been a bit wet lately...

In relation to the build...

I think I'll save for the stage 2 rekon kit and get everything sorted properly from the get go. Reading through one of the modified 4x4 mags this arvo and I get the impression that lifting with big tyres puts all sorts of steering geometry out of whack so getting the UCA's should help that.

Sweet mate, I'll have to see what I'm upto, but I'm always keen for a camp and some drinks! Don't have a bike though.

Keen for a wheel this Saturday? We are heading down to the watagans, have a thread up in the trip forums if you wanna check it out

33's + Chip + exhaust + towing a ton of wood up a mountain = flogged out clutch...

Next on the to do list is a clutch upgrade.
I've decided to go with the Xtreme Outback heavy duty 4x4 clutch kit due it being 40% more clamping force over the crappy stock unit. The other option was the 4terrain clutch from clutch industries but since it's only 33% stronger the Xtreme won out.
I'm going to help out with the swap so I'll grab some pics and throw them up after the deed is done.

If my rear main seal isn't leaking after 116,000 kms, should I still replace it while I've got access to it anyway? Are these known to leak after a certain amount of time?

Cheers guys!

Dan

Mate i would be changing out the seal while its dam easy to get too, last thing you want to do is put it all back together for it to leak and stuff around with the job again!
