possibly quick release, but as somebody (Alby ?) posted, would need to strengthen the tie down points on the tray

Are you thinking a full height canopy or one so the roof top tent doesn't sit too high above the roof?

the alloy canopy will sit at the roof line

so, if I put the RTT on it will be above the roof line

heh, gotta source a tray VERY soon as I have to drive to Melb to pickup the box before the end of April

I've been looking on ebay for a while, but dual cab trays go for ridiculous prices. A new tray can be had for around 1200, but is very light weight and not welded together

oh ffs, the box is not right

I asked for them to put the skin (checker plate) on the outside of the framing (specifically the floor area), but they haven't.

Great to hear Craig. Would it be cheaper to get it freighted up rather than drive down and back. Another alternative would be to drag it back on a 6 x 4 box trailer. Shame about the floor are they going to fix it? Hope they don't do a shoddy repair.

driving is about the same cost as freight
I have other things to do in Melb, so the trip won't be a waste

as for getting it fixed, we're having a bit of an argument over spec, but hopefully it will be resolved shortly

I'd be standing my ground as well, not the first instant that this has happened. Ive also heard of one being damaged in transit and an argument about who was responsible. Hope it works out in your favour.

If you told them the correct specs then stand your ground and don't give them any cash until the final product meets your agreed spec. Good luck with it.

If you can show evidence of what you requested, as in an email or something than there shouldn't be an arguement. If not it might be a battle you won't win...

yeah, I have an email trail. The 3d drawing provided in the quote seems to indicate skin external, but they're saying otherwise. anyway, we're still talking, so will see how it goes

thx for the input guys

I want the extra 50mm for storage so that I'll have 100mm of storage area from the floor up to the door level

then I'll have 300mm drawers from the door level

It looks as though the floor welds maybe able to be unstitched and the floor removed. The way mine was built this is not possible as the canopy was assmembled over the floor frame and was tied in. Id have to cut my floor out leaving it in around the edges, it would look like turd. Im not a fan of the floor either they could have cut the sheet so it lies symetrical.

Craig.
Boab make tanks at 65mm.
Here is their range. Was looking at running the 48L one down the back wall of the kitchen and having the wheel cutout over the battery.
