thanks mate, I had forgotten about their stuff

they also have a flat version (80mm high) that would be perfect for a floor tank

so I went to Oztint and got the windows tinted the other day. 35% ceramic film all round and an 18% sun visor strip for $300. Very happy with the result.

They can also do car wrapping. I was quoted a rough price of $500 to clear coat the vehicle sides

Spill the beans mate. The tub is for sale so have you got a tray to put your canopy on yet?

Cheers,

Chris.

geez, can't hide anything from you guys :)

I'm getting a custom alloy tray built in Sydney. very simple design and surprisingly cheap. first quote came back at $1300, but I've added a few extras, so that will push it up a little.

Should get the final quote by end of the week, and built by mid next week. Then its off with the tub, on with the tray, off to Melbourne to pickup my (still unresolved) canopy

fwiw, a cheap alloy tray was also $1300 fitted. BUT they're very lite and flimsy. also quite large (1860ish square)

whereas mine will be a lot stronger and mostly welded, size is 1750 square.

the only thing is I have to remove the tub myself

Where you getting the tray made? I've got a mate looking for a tray at the moment.

Cheers,

Chris.

Warringah Aluminium

They actually have a tray builder who contracts to them. His quote for a standard heavy duty tray was $2600. A good solid tray, but not what I wanted.

So with assistance from them and Joe (Ciboats), I've put a simple design together which they'll fabricate :)

yes and no. took forever to get them to understand what I wanted, and when they did the design wasn't optimal

for some reason they'd offered to add extra framing in the floor area free of charge, so I've decided to get that done. I have some ideas for future improvements but they'll have to wait...

The Big trip is back on ie. leave for the Cape on July 1st

rear diff has been re-geared! the best thing about it, is my fuel usage is now back under 10L per 100. not a huge difference in rpm, but gear ratios seem to be better placed now

btw, ideally I should have got 3.9's, but they were $1600 landed. so I picked up a set of 3.7's out of a diesel auto for a reasonable price

Neat job with the tray couming up micky mouse 8-) Just a thought if they dont do it maybe ask them is they could weld the under side of those bearers aswell. My tray was done similar but with steel and by not fully welding them gave the weld a point to crack through. With this being aluminium probly have twice the chance of cracking especially on those corrugated cape roads.
