hey guys thought i might start a build thread since i just graduated today and have a bit of time to make a thread before i go to schoolies.
i bought my black 06 extra cab in august this year with 150 000k, this bolt on half rear leaf to stiffen the rear end for towing and a set of 17" alloys. ohh and some fully sick rubber car mats.
today i got a set of 15x7 sunraysias with 265/75/15 general grabber at2 tyres put on. looks mean as.

future modifications;
2' suspension lift
arb bullbar
custom tray, gotta get rid of the stupid tub. to small for a chippy and all my moto crap
rock sliders

that should be all i can afford for a little while. lucky dad owns a steel fab shop so i can make my own custom sliders and tray and save money.

heres what she looked like when i first got it

and now

and the design i drew up on paint for the tray, what do use recon.. keep that extra bar coming off the front or scrap it?

cheers

looks good mate. if you are intending on doing decent 4wding then i would suggest using a dual cab tray instead of the extra cab one. i have the extra cab one and i find it to sick out a little too much and it decreases the departure angle. even though the difference is only one foot between the two of them it would make a huge difference. thats just my thoughts.

yup make it flush with the rear of the chassis rails...thats if your gonna wheel it a bit...

You could always fab up a track or the bike so that wen u wanna go riding u can just throw te bike up on that and let it overhang a bit. Then wen u wanna go wheeling uv got the tight backside we all love dearly :D

thanks jrgordon. think the dual cab tray might be a bit short for my liking.
dont think i will worry about the tray as the towbar will definitely scrape before the tray would.

did a bit of driving with the new tyres on today. bit noisy on road but nothing the radio wont cover up
tested them a lil in the backyard and with a heavy foot they just grip like anything. very happy :D

Recovery gear if you don't have any, that's what I'd be getting anyway

I guess it depends on the sort of driving you do mate. The other thing I just thought of is see if your ARB stocks the Outback ideas recovery points, some do. They'd be a worthwhile investment, and since you don't have a bullbar they should fit too ;)

fair point there.. ill hopefully be getting a bullbar soon soo might not need the recovery points. might have a look through the catalogue and find something i might need thats not ridiculously priced like most arb stuff is.
