Would you take it touring or just a weekend warrior? Maybe coil the rear?

Probably the only touring it would do is trips to straddie ad frazer. Other wise itll be a weekend warrior. I'd say eventually I'd probably coil the rear but for now that's not on the cards

Nothing new on the lux. It's still for sale.

But I thought I'd buy myself a present today though. A go pro hero 3 silver edition. Because I'm nice like that. Got it really cheap, Aswell as a mount and spare battery.

My father in law is a plumber and had done the same to all him quads and just uses a normal garden hose fitting so you just connect the hose and open the breather and then fill.

I had one on my first hilux can't remember what the tap was as it was 15 years ago but it had a threaded end cap on one end good for cleaning it out

Shouldn't be a worry it's only for washing hand not drinking. That's what rum is for

So the ute isn't for sale anymore I love it to much. New plans for it are to sell off the tray and get a tub with custom draw setup or alloy tray. Hopefully this should help my terrible fuel economy. I don't really need the practicality of a tray anymore with the current job I have.
Hopefully still going to build up the patrol Aswell in the new year

Julz. How much fuel do you think you will save fitting a tub. For all the expense wouldn't an alloy one make more sense. Extra Cab tubs are pretty expensive and rare on the second hand market. Then you have to paint...

Before the tray I was getting Maby 100k more. My tray is pretty heavy easily 3 times that of a tub.
Yeah I hear ya about the 2nd hand tubs. Not many around. Alloy tray would be easier to find but a tub does look a lot better.

Fair enough mate. Yeah tubs have a cleaner look, but are pretty heavy themselves. Unfortunately the higher you lift them and bolt more gear on it all sacrifices fuel economy. Don't know what size tyres you run but have you thought about running std size 2nd hand tyres and bolting on the muddies for weekend duties. Rather than re invent the wheel again try something different. They do go like a bull at the gate on stock rubber.

Yeah so true. I run 32's on patrol steelies. Not overly light but coming of 31's there wasn't a huge difference. I've thought about it but that's money I don't have at the moment and for now she's just going to be a work horse and straddie rig. See how i go with the different trays. She goes like a bull now with just a 2.5" exhaust and all the weight can only hope it's more fun with a lighter tray.
