hate to be "that guy" but the v8 cruisers are horrid....i drive one for work when i go out west... no power, no brakes, handle like a truck, terrible turning circle, and coz i have the workmate, no power windows or centre console :( one good thing tho is the torque it has, and it can handle a metric shit ton of weight
old enough to know better...young enough to not give a f**k

Hey mate., nah you cant drive a V8 cruiser on your P's (trust me I found out the hard way) only way is to apply for an exemption that you will endure sever hardship with out getting that exemption. I drive a v8 cruiser for work and had to get that exemption form and they don't like giving them out haha.

Its a load of bullshit, Most standard veichels out there these days have more power that the cruiser, only because its a v8 they don't want P platers driving them haha,

Let us know how you go anyway,,

Cheers Nixon

The RMS (rta) cant actually give you a definitive answer on this. I spoke to 3 different people at the RMS, 2 said yes 1 said no. Its to late for me anyway ive already purchased a 2010 v8 cruiser. Passed multiplehighway patrols and been followed by one. BTW good move with the cruiser 8-) Emailed RMS enquiry government mob or what ever they call themselves and got a reply with this. Bloke on the LCOOL forum got the same attachment

Yer they have the worst turning circle but can tow a lot of weight and u don't even notice it there.. We have the gxl as a work truck. It could go for some better seats. But looks like a new Hilux will do me

Yeah not going to lie I get the same reasoning. Some things say yes some say no. I figure if the website says accepted than it must be. Ill just keep a copy in my glove box.

Srluxx what state are you in? I'm in qld and the website Tdog linked clearly stated its acceptable. But as stated above there's a lot of conflicting statements as there is ones for it. I recon ill just go for it.

Dan that is why I'm buying one. I carry a metric shit tone of weight and need a lot of torque. I've had the v6 for long enough and the power it has is great but it has got me into trouble a bit lately.
Turning circle doesn't bother me because it not a race car and on sand it's not like you can turn anyway so not loosing out at all.

Ahhhh okay, yeah Iam in QLD Mackay, I didn't look into it that much, just saw the 8 or more cylinder part and thought I had to get one ahha.

The cruiser I drive for work is a GX, 33s, 3" exhaust, bar, side rails, , custom tray, And carry around 1t everyday (toolboxes, tools, generators, oxy.)

Also tow a tandem trailer usually around the 3-3.5t mark, and bloody hell it still pulls like a freight train, it's just a machine even with all that gear, I love it, if the bank allowed I'd have one too mate! There awesome, so simple, nothing much goes wrong with them,

Also going to have the chip it Dom 3 bolted on next week! Keen as haha
