Just got back from stradbroke to day. had a good few days camping. Although we went for a bit of a trip to the key holes and managed to destroy the side wall of my bfg ats. Thats not fun so I need to find another one in a 265 70 16

how did you do that- the track is pretty good, one section of rocks and maybe the odd hidden pipe?

still not good, but its a fun track if its been wet lately- the holes can be deceptive deep

The water parts were pretty deep. There must have been something in the water because it was find when I went in but once I came out it was pretty much flat. the hole is about the size of a 50 cent piece.

Yeah thats the one. Instead to turning right to go out onto the beach keep going straight past the big bins

softy- no seriously they can get to bonnet height on our standard mine hiluxes/ prados but it would be the trees/ foliage that would make me think twice about taking my vehicle through- a little pinstriping will happen though

well i seriously need to invest in some rock slides. after going out to scenic rim last week my factory sidesteps are about to fall off. they both have huge bends in them and the brackets are stuffed. i can actually grab them and move them and they rattle as i drive along lol but no sill damage though which is great. not to mention i came so close to rolling while fooling around in the play area.

Re: Ben's white_hilux - on the hunt for rock slides

Postby 09lux on Mon, 09 Jan 2012 6:24 +0000

l think the general consensus on here mate is that buds sliders are the best. The next best thing would be to fab some up yourself if u know someone who can weld. My suggestion would be to get a set with a top skid plate, stops rocks getting flung up into your sills. And so your missus doesn't slip her foot through them.
