LS or 1UZ conversion would be the best bet, get a full engine and trans combo than a adapter plate to a atlas transfer or marlin crawler transfer case

if you like having the diesel?

All the D4D's on there are between $6500 to $8500 with between 100 thou to 250 thou kms on them, If im going to spend that much i wanna do a swap in it. A swap will be more but i dont really wanna go doing a D4D again with the injector probs etc..

Marlin case ftw haha

In all honsesty if i keep it, Its going to be a towrig only now... No more bush trips in it. Keep that for the 89'.

I think i may have been up it a bit too much on Sunday but nothing id consider damaging to the engine and its been serivced every 10,000kms its whole life.

for a tow rig you would want a diesel wouldn't you? Low-down torque and fuel-economy.

If you dont care so much about fuel economy, go an LS2, way better low down torque.

Mate how many kms did you have on the rig? If my diesel ever let go I would sincerely consider a engine conversion. Would love my hilux with some sort of diesel 6 banger.

Well little bit of an update, Engine is being fully rebuilt and should be back in within a few weeks. Also the ugly old bar that i hated from the day i put on is coming off, Ive designed my own one which ive got being laser cut/folded at the moment. Will be a plate centre section with tube wings, A bit like an Xrox but alot more slimline.

Anyways heres how sad the lux looks after sitting for last 2 months :(

The angle of that shaft looks identical to mine. It has a torn boot so I'm replacing it but need to get the shaft In the centre of the hole. Any ideas mate?
