Alrighty so ive been on here a while and what a great forum it is.. i figured it was time i put up a bit of a build so yas can see what mods my lux has undertaken...

Ive got a 2006 sr5 d4d xtra cab manual fitted with a colour coded arb bar when i bought it..

the plans are not to have the most extreme rig rollin the streets but something that is capable like my old lux and enjoy the trips with the boys and eventually travel up to the cape and go to fraser island soon enough..

the mods so far are

-lightforce 240 xgt 55w 6000k hid spotties
-35w 6000k hid headlights
-forward facing parkers changed to led
-dual battery system
-rear under seat compartments fitted with led lights to access gear at night off aux battery
-hid worklights under rollbar off aux battery
-2nd cig socket changed to aux battery
-fitted 2nd hand genuine tonnaeu and rubber mat
-gme tx3440 uhf and laser arieal
-nokia bluetooth phone kit
-ironman snorkel
-2inch raised heavy duty lovell springs + adjustable ironman struts.. these have since settled since fitting and have 15mm packers to go in over weekend

future mods are

-new rubber (bf goodrich a/t or m/t atz 4 rib)
-steel tray for bikes or stick out the tub and fit a canvas canopy for camping trips... ideas ???
-chip + zorst.. until the the straight through will suffice my needs when i get round to it
-scrub bars + side steps
-anything else that catches my eye along the way....

photos..................... you will have to click photos as i didnt resize them :? :?

Hey mate, good work on the mods to your lux it's really taking shape 8-). Whats your opinion on the hid upgrade to the oem lights compared to factory halogens? Did it make a big difference?

Cheers Troy

thanks troy yea it will get there eventually... slowly but surely  i find them to be a good thing, low beam is a big difference alot crisper light so much easier on the eyes the the halogens... as for high beam well they get over powered by the spotties and they are awesome... all in all made a huge difference especially drivin to and from work and its always dark...

Muffler has been cut out on Friday and now has a nice ring to it :) I also fitted the spacer rings so now she's sitting fairly well level.... Next will be canopy frame which will be incorporated to leave the roll bar on and a new set of rubber :) :) :)

I can explain what I did but as for the picture I've had to remove it and send it away for warranty.... But as you can see I chose a blank fitting and drilled through a 14mm hole. Cut off the rubber boot on the end of the clip on the mic. Found a gromet that would fit through the mic clip and sit flush in the 14mm hole.. Then slid the main unit down infront of the gearstick shroud and secured with cable tie.. Hopefully that helps maye

Alrighty guys now its edgin closer to getting my tax return i thought id start lookin for a wheel tyre combo.. the big girl is currently running 17's but i am going to replace them with a 16 x 8 in either a black sunnie or the dick cepek dc2... im undecided so any opinions would be great :D and wrapped around either of them will be a 265/75/r16 m/t atz 4 rib, they look pretty aggressive for an a/t and havnt heard a bad word about them..

i've also got some pics up from stockton the other weekend when i took my mate and his first 4WD for a run, lets just say the hilux saved the day on numerous occasions :D even snatched out a couple of strandad wagons along the way but all up was a awesome day, also got a pic at work without the rollbar.. rollbar or no rollbar ? what do yas think ?

just click on photos to resize..

so dick cepek

Lux is looking great mate..
Like the look of the charcoal without the Toyota roll bar gives it smoother lines.. :)
Id like to put a nice set of rims on mine like the DC's but I would ruin them pretty quickly...
Cheers
Mark

Troy it's about an hour n half from where TT is.. Not a bad run at all

Dan yea I like the looks of the sunnies too they give it a really tough stance and I won't cringe when I scratch f*#k outta them... Decisions decisions aye

Yeah that's not far then 8-) I recon it could be possible :D there was a few talks about doing a trip while a lot of us from interstate are over there.

One thing with the DC's they have a negative offset of around -12 so they might be sticking just outside your flares, where as the sunnys you could prob get In a 0 or p20. Alby is running 265mtz on a dc1 rim that will give you a good idea how far they will stick out.

Food for thought ;)

Yea I seen that when I was searching through the interweb.. But I found a tyre seller on eBay that has a set with a 0 offset for 900 odd bux :s I messaged and double checked and he says they are 100% 0 offset... a bloke from work is gunna buy them and try them on his lux and if he don't like them then I'm first in line and if not then sunnies here I come :)
