Re: crosssport's build up-water tank

Well after the weekend trip away to Tallarook I've decided it's time for a built in water tank.
Seeing how I have the outback roller drawers and there is wasted space at the front of them I am going to get a custom tank made to fill this space.
It will be made of stainless and the drawer infills will sit on top of the tank.
From rough measurements worked out that it should hold about 50 litres, which should be enough for most outings.
If anyone has outback drawers and is interested in a water tank just pm me, would be easier to get one while my metal fab man is making mine as he will have all the measurements and templates once mine is sorted.

Will post more details as we progress, and pics.

Cheers
Shane

Crossport, I know you are doing a different design but Here is a link to my stainless tank on my buildup.

Scotty knows what he was doing and used to build fuel tanks for race cars etc. The mounting and breathers might be handy for some ideas for you. The nutserts are a great way to bolt them in. I pulled it out a couple of weekends ago to tidy up the install (fitted a rubber grommet to the hole in the floor of the tub) and it was so easy to remove. Oh and we glued some 3mm rubber sheeting right accross the bottom so it would not rub the paintwork on the tub floor too much.

The hilux is booked in for a dyno tomorrow arvo, hope to be able to do a bit of fine tuning with the steinbauer whilst there.
I have another thing up my sleeve for a trial but shall await results before I say to much, if it all comes off with top results then I will do a write up with dyno sheets and pics to explain it all.
Keeping fingers crossed in the search for the ultimate power up option for the hilux 3d4d. 8-)

Well haven't put much up about my lux for a while, so thought I'd give a bit of an update.
Had dyno runs and extra tune of steinbauer module done, must say very happy with the outcome. Producing 330nm of torque at rear wheels running 265/75/16 mtz's. The module and boost cut and exhaust work a treat. I'm getting 23psi max turbo boost and egt temps are all nice and safe. 8-)
So the latest addition has been front and rear air lockers :D Had ARB fit the lockers only so I just need to find the time now to fit and wire up the compressor and air lines and switches, then she will be all locked up 8-)
I will post up some pics as I progress

Nice work with the diff’s bud, good luck with the wiring job, I’m only half way done. . . . Just no time to get things done while on holidays . . . .

Pete. . . . 8-)
