Ok, since last update I have completed my Audio system and exhaust, pictures too follow in the next few days.

Audio consists of :

1x Alpine PDX4.150 Amp for the speakers
1x Alpine PDX1.1000 Amp for the Sub
Sub: 12" Rockford Fosgate 800/400RMS
Speakers: Rockford fosgate Power Splits up front-6.5"
Rear- Type R's 6.5"
DD Bluetop Battery
Rockford 2 farad Capacitor
Eclipse AVN762 Satnav/dvd head unit- 7" screen/reverse camera.
Dynamat in every door/roof/undercarpet.
Sounds great, very crisp and excellent Sound Quality. The 12" slimline sub sounds just like
a full depth sub. I can also lift my back seat and access the jack/tools if I need, so these
subs fit perfectly.

Exhaust is-

Full 2.5" stainless Steel, Pacemaker headers, 4x hiflow cats, 1x Magnaflow Resonator, 1x XForce muffler and 1x Xforce Polished tip. Awesome sound with a bit of a burble to it.

To come- Underdog racing development Supercharger upgrade, New Rims/tyres, full fuel re-map and tune.

Then it will be done! Photos up in the next few days

Yes, installed it all my self, the 09 model was a pain in the ass as it has a Airbag sensor under the front drivers seat, so the amps where a pain too fit and tune.

I have 2 amps, one under each seat and the 12" slimline sub fit behind the seat in a custom box thats in spec with the standard box (litre wise) that the sub needs. I cant get pictures of the sub, as the seat blocks it all off, but I can still lift my rear seat 1/3 of the way up, enough to get the jack/tools out.

The dynamat is a pain in the ass to fit, but when your running high end audio systems it makes a huge difference. Its alot more clean and bassy and stops all the rattles/tinny sound that you would normally get from exposed panels.

Well, il try and stick the camera behind there with a torch or something.

In order to get the big boxes in behind the seat, you need to undo the 4 bolts
that hold the rear seat in place, then while still leaving the seat "hanging" at
the top, pull the rear of the seat out, towards the front of the car, just make it
"swing" off the top mounting points. Then slide the box in and push the seat back
at the same time, if that makes sense?

Im dig up the box dimensions in a minute, this box is guaranteed to fit.

"Im dig up the box dimensions in a minute, this box is guaranteed to fit."

That would be unreal mate, very much appriciated. Do you think theres a chance u could fit 2, 12" slims in behind the seat. Or wouldn't ot be able to squeeze in enough volume. What rockford sub did you use, do you think you could point me in the direction of any specs? was just about to go 4, 8" in behind there but would much prefer 2, 12"s if i could.

Thanks for the time, Max

Here are the dimensions

Height-34.3cm
Width-69.5cm
Depth- 13.3cm Bottom-
Depth- 8.3cm Top

I used to be heavily involved in car audio, and let me tell you. There is no such thing as good value for money in car audio, quality is determined by price. Your best off having one good 12" woofer in a proper sized enclosure with the correct volume.

I've tryed the dual 8" set up and let me tell you, there shit. Save your money, get a decent amp and a high quality sub. The rockford 12" slim lines are one of the best slimlines out there that can keep upto a full size woofer.

Remember, also when dealing with audio gear, forget the max wattage, only look at the RMS readings. When you see the supercheap 4000,000,000,00 watt specials, forget about it, there shit. A good 12" slimline should be between 300-500 rms, and a amp of about 600rms minimum would be a good starting point.

Paw55h,

If your Bilsteins are like mine all you need to do is get another groove machined in the strut about 30mm above the std one then refit the spring cup.

Steve.

Thanks for that Batman I might ring around and see if I can get it done

I don't want to sell them as they handle really well and I don't want to spoil it but I do need a little more height I already bottomed the front out at stockton

simonreale wrote:After last weeks Dyno run revealing that its running way too rick (14:1) it will also be getting a full APC tune up which should add an additional 100hp plus a new URD TRD pulley upgrade which will add about 2psi boost. which should hopefully bring an extra 40hp

Total of about 450hP at the motor

How did u find the APC tune? Did they just reflash the ecu? Or add a chip?

Hello Paw55h

Please do yourself a favour and call Paul at Sydney Shock Absorbeers (02 95575930) before removing your Bilsteins! http://www.bilstein.com.au

You have 2 options: If you replace the TRD spring with a standard Hilux 4x4 spring it will lift your vehicle 1 inch or more and give you the ultimate ride or just simply get them to machine a new grove.

The Bilsteins are far superior to anything the other aftermarket 4x4 people are selling and also a big warning don’t lift your vehicle too high as it will damage your handling plus you will not gain any clearance under the vehicle as you are still hampered by the Diff and the lower control arms.

I spoke to Paul,

He said to remove the spacers from the front struts will give you the travel to put new springs on and get a 2 inch lift from a standard SR5 height which is about 55mm to 75mm on a standard TRD.

The rear billies need to be replaced if you want to retain the higher rear then front, which is what I want. Other wise just put a 1" lift block in the rears this apparently levels the truck out.

I will be shipping mine to Paul as he seems to be the only one who has any idea everyone else has tried to sell me new struts, I like the handling but I want harder suspension.

Anyone recommend a spring I am thinking Kings at this point.

14.1 is not rich i would say that would be on the lean side for being surpercharged
