Ill just add a few videos here from the race we had at Bencubbin. We ended up 12th outright and 2nd in class. Not too bad for a first up run. Work and planning is still going ahead on the extreme 4wd hilux hopefully to debut in 2016, we will spend this year sorting the FJ, next year look at doing the AORC (including Finke) and then get back full steam ahead on the Hilux again. We are seeking sponsors for the 2015 season, so if anyone knows of a business or has a business which would like to join us as a marketing partner in a mutually beneficial relationship please email me jason@flatoutoffroadracing.com

Sorry to jump back in time somewhat but a few questions about the previously sold production class Hilux.

Was the steering rack the standard unit? As in the standard ratio? Have you found a particular model has a faster ratio or all identical?
What diffs did you run? Ratios and what form of LSD/ locking?
Gear shift on the Hilux box- any quick shift upgrades available that you know of?

Sorry again to go back over old ground and to ask so many questions.
Just hoping for some help on a special build I have planned for over here in Victoria.
Thanks in advance.

Hey mate, no problems at all

Steering Rack - Standard
Diffs - Standard (we did change ratio before we sold it)
Gearbox - Standard (no quick shift kits)

Basically it was as per a hilux that you can buy off the shelf. I know there are steering quickeners you can buy ( http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/2005942 ... 107&chn=ps ) but I haven't used one, so I don't know how effective they are

Rear diff we ran the standard LSD, as most would know Toyota LSD's don't have a super great reputation. If we had have kept the car we probably would have put a Detroit locker in

I know there are some short shifter kits out there ( viewtopic.php?t=18446 )

The vehicle is actually for sale again http://www.offroadracing.com.au/index.p ... -&Itemid=7

If you have any more questions feel free to hit me up on our race team page ( https://www.facebook.com/flatoutoffroadracing ) as I get on there more often than I do here

Thanks, Jason

Hi sorry for diving so far back but would you happen to remember how far out the chassis mounts are from extra to dual cab ? Got a mate that has a smashed extra cab body and I have a dual cab that it is in OK shape
