Decided i couldn't be f***ed trying to mount the 240's so i took them back and got a refund. Ended up getting a gme tx3100 uhf and 1.04m aeriel. Probably a bit more necessary than spotties atm anyway. Also decided to get a diff breather kit for cheap insurance and peace of mind.

I'll put pic's up later if i get the chance to put these bad boys in today.

Yeah Uhf would be so much handier, I use mine every time we go bush. Good choice too Gme's would have to be the best Uhf. Ive got a 3340 and love it so much better than my old Uniden.

Mine was done by Autobarn, It's one of the ones where the screen and all are on the hand piece itself so the unit itslef is mounted under the dash near the steering column and hand piece is sitting next to the glovebox passenger side. I'd like to move mine to closer to the driver its a bit of a reach when wheeling it.

I just picked up a GME 3510 very similar in size to the 3100

I went with a black aerial (GME ae4018k1) as it is less noticeable to the white

But the best part is you can change from a 6db to a 3db or even to a 9db without too much drama as they all use the same base.

You could always leave it off too if you are only going to use it when you go off road
