ha ha.. yeah was rackin my brain on where to put it... tryed it there and fit perfectlly 8-) I have a tray on so the fuel lid opener is no longer in use. I'll probably pull the opener out all together and fit a couple more switches in there.

Still gotta find somewhere for my reverse camera switch and front locker switch when i get one.
Will prob cut out for two more switches here....

That's where my locker switches are, along with winch isolator and dual battery connect. I put my winch in/out switch on the centre console just below the latch for the lid, small colour coded spring loaded toggle switch. There's a pic on page 1 or 2 of my build.

In cab winching is the best, its the lazy way, after you get out and hook it all up to a tree first :? :? ;)

I had also run out off switch room for my custom rocker switches and found a few extra places:

Pull out the "security" Flashing red light. It doesnt do anything but flash when the ignition off.
Its where I put my in cab winch switch.

And next to your L2 switch there is a another switch space marked out behind the plastic. Toyota just never put a hole there. Its easy to cut out from behind.

2 more switch spaces in factory locations without butching the dash. (much more)

Re: JAKES LUX - Sliders started

Started on some sliders at home, 40 nb pipe, 6mm plate for chassis mounts just stuff i had laying around.
got quoted $40 per bend to bend the pipe at a metal fab workshop :o so bought 4 pre bent 45 degrees 'buttwelds' for $4 each
Image

Did the notching with a 48mm hole saw on the drill press.... came up a lot neater than i thought :)
Image

propped up and tac'd together... i may put a little more angle on them as i still have 60mm clearence under the door when opened
Image
Image

Will borrow a mates mig to weld 'em up and spray with a few coats of LIC40 :D ... so far has cost me $130 :D

looks good mate.
the only thing that I would suggest is to weld in a gusset between the 6mm plate of the mount and the square rhs coming off it.

Cheers, yeah maybe I'll leave it, but have been looking at the seldom seen SAS'd lux and the sliders on that look awesome angled right up to the door seal..

Yeah i was surprised how neat and easy the notching was... Used a 48mm bi-metal hole saw on the joinery shops 30 year old drill press... made a little jig for the pipe to sit in and several clamps holding it. Bloody 3.2mm steel pipe...Shook the shit out of the old drill press... Glad the boss wasn't there
