It was 580 for steel delivered including the checker plate sheet, $140 something for gas for the welder 30 something for wire, probably about 50 bucks worth of flapper disks, lights cost 120 odd. Probably 50 in other consumables like safety glasses and cutting disks and 80 ish for a draw slide
Around a grand so far but I still need to get it painted which my mate is doing at his work for cheap.
I also still need to decide whether I'll canvas the openings or make doors, either option will add a bit more cost.
Time is the biggest killer, as I'm average at welding it takes ages to clean up and get neat.
I also have most of the tools at home so I didn't need to buy any (grinders, drop saw, clamps, welder, drill and bits, holesaws and such)

Cheers, I'm off to Brisbane for a wheelchair basketball competition in a few weeks so I'm trying to have it all done by then, I'm getting pretty sick of welding and grinding now though, I have no idea how boilies do it for a living

ignore the lightboard, i stole it off my tinny to get me out of trouble until its painted and the lights go in
the headboards ended up being slightly on the piss with the uprights but its way to much work to fix so it can stay how it is

yeah mate, i dropped it off Tuesday lunchtime, my mate recons hell have it done by friday.
ive organised for my mate rob to come round saturday and give me a hand to finish it off (screwing down the ally, fitting my draw and fitting it back to the ute)
sunday ill try and smash out the tray lights so with a bit of luck and a few beers it should be good to go sunday arvo.

im booked in for a wheel alignment monday arvo to check it as my suspension has now had a couple of thousand ks to settle in and i want to make sure its right before driving to brissy and then on to adelaide next week.
Im also booked back in at crd tuning to get an economy tune put in a spare spot on my map switch for the unichip. Ill probably also get them to install my redarc gauges as im running out of time to get it done myself.

ill post up some more pics as soon as i get the tray back from paint
