I don't know what the cost of the SAS conversion was but I imagine it was expensive!!!
A complete Patrol rolling chassis can be bought for jus a few thousand bucks. Fitting the Hilux body to the Patrol chassis wouldn't take much doing. I'm about to do one myself!

Probably would be if you were starting from scratch and the engineering would be easier as well

I'm part way through the process of fitting my Hilux to a GQ Patrol chassis. The diffs/axles are wider than the Hilux but only by about 45mm. There is very little difference in the chassis width although the Hilux chassis is much flatter in profile than the Patrol requiring a few small mods to allow the Hilux body to fit.

Finally bit the bullet, i have been getting a bit of vibration from the drive shaft there are a few ways to fix it but to make sure its done properly the front diff is being rotated. While she is under the knife the side of the diff is getting shaved a little and the radius arms relocated to improve the turning circle whats a few more $$ to throw at her !! :? :? Image

Love your engineering. No doubt, a great vehicle, especially in the high country.
