but i guess i have already paid for the cheaper servicing when i brought it in the first place.
The 09 are $170 i think now.

FYI,
Just had the 90k service + front pads and machine the disc's.
Total $510.50.

Not bad getting 90k out of pads I thought.

not happy jan.

Just went to take the Air Filter out (K&N Cotton Air Filter) and they have either tossed it or kept it when the serviced the car @ 40k.

If it was inbad need of cleaning they should have let me know, but i had cleaned it only about 5k prior.

the Air Filter also has K&N sticker that say " DO NOT THROW THIS FILTER AWAY IT S A K&N CLEANABLE FILTER"

so yer not happy, will be bringing it up when its in for next service

jcarter,

I always take out my K&N and put in the original back when i go for servicing.

I don't trust those nincompoops even with the K&N sticker...................

Do you think you could get a replacement K&N out of them since it was their fault?

I decided to write an email to the servicing department about it, will see what happens next week.

Its been in before and never had an issue, i mean its PINK, not white, its not hard to know its different than a standard filter.

I said if its an issue (e.i needs cleaning) then put a message on the service docket and i can clean it myself.

Included a Picture of the K&N Sticker aswell.

Next time i think i will do just that put the old filter in.

and Given my last service was $605, it basically became $700 after i replace filter.

Had 40K service @ $459 at Woll Toyota

All OK but had oil on top of front axle housing on drivers side. Is going back in 2 weeks for a look.

It is only turbo on RHS so are thinking there is a leak around it somewhere.

Will wait and see outcome.

I live in Geelong but prefer to always have the servicing done in Ballarat - great cust service too. And the best place in Ballarat for a big breaky in front of the fire place is only 5mins walk :D

my serviceing costs nothing!
just do it yourself....
change oil, oil filter, feul filter, air filter,
change power steering fluid, brake fluid, radiator coolant
(top up everything when needed of course)

observely checking brakes isnt that hard and if you hear any weird noises under the bonet than you know probly get it checked!

just got my 30k done $150 it sure pays to know a service manager. but i think toyota wanted around $280 but they couldnt confirm it as they couldn't find a 2007 manual diesel hilux in their system :?: :?: WTF that is one of the reasons i didnt go back.

Should be gettin some bendix ultimate pads next week as the brakes are just shit at the moment.

Guys,

Just had my 40k service done. $486. I always check my car when I get it home, you know the normal stuff, make sure the filters and stuff have been changed and grease nipples lubed. Well I get home and climb under the ute and lo and behold the grease nipples on the prop shafts have not been touched. I started pinging!! What else wasn't done - 486 effing dollars for these clowns not to do it properly......

I headed back to the Dealer and spoke to the Service Manager, thankfully had cooled off and was very polite but made my feelings well and truly clear. He put the car on the hoist and yep he agreed not touched. He calls the mechanic over and he says they didn't need greasing. I said I would rather them done as per the book, however if he doesn't think they need it then just mark it as so on the service sheet. Then no misuderstandings.

Anyway made it known to the Manager I had no confidence that the service was done properly, he checked over a few other things and cleaned up some oil spills under the car. We went back inside the office and he apologised profusely then offered me my next service half price.

So I can tell you my 50k service will be $100.

Still not overly happy about it all but in the end not a disasterous result. They also now know I check everything. I am only going back to them as I have a free extended warranty (7 years 150K) that depends on them servicing the car.

It pays to check your car after servicing.

Cheers,

Steve

Steve,

Glad it got sorted out.

We just have to be more vigilant and check ourselves.
