This might be the wrong place, but, my ac position dial is free to move between de-mist and feet and floor, but I can't get it past that feet and floor setting. Anyone else had this issue or know anyone that has? Cheers guys

G'day hilzee, thoes knobs turn a very fine steel cable that can sometimes slip out of their grove (the temperature one on my 06 does it a bit) if you get that part of the dash off and have a look and it's not that then something must be stuck at the other end of the cable. I hope this helps in some way. Someone else on here might know a bit more. Good luck with it.

With the summer heat your blsck insulation on the fire wall is probably breaking down and bits falling off. Found any black bits of tar looking stuff on your floor. Mine being foing it for 3 years. Some have reported it gets stuck in the vent system

Hey mate, unfortunately I’m not going to be home for a few weeks so I can’t check that out. But when I get home I’ll have look for sure! Definitely sounds plausible. Do you know where the other end ends up?

That’s alright, I’ll have a tinker with it when I’m home, and I’ll let you know if I find anything.

Firewall breaking down and is jammed in your vent. Happens all the time with mine.

If it turns a bit it won’t be the cable.

Easiest way I have found is to remove the stereo and check the vents / cables etc. You will be amazed at the black rubber bluetac type crap falling down.

While you are there, peel off any other suspect insulation and bin it. Look up under the dash from the footwell in both sides and do the same.

If after that you have the dials still not working, have someone hold the switch panel while you activate the dials (follow the cable and feel where it is jamming up). More than likely it is other bits of insulation caught up somewhere.
