Spanner dash warning light flashes a few times

Hi All,

After being low on oil I might have overdone it I'd about 5mm above the top 'dot' on the stick.

Now 2 days later the warning light (the orange spanner) comes on as I turn on the car. It blinks a few times and then remains quiet for the rest of the trip.

The manual does not mention this behaviour. Only that it's time to service the oil if this light stays on and reset it afterwards.

1. Can anyone tell me what this behaviour means?
2. Anyone an idea on how to get the little overfill (guess I'd like about 0.2 Liters out) out of there without dumping the full 6-something liters or having to screw in a drain plug while oil is pooring over my face?

0.2ltrs won't be a problem since when the engine is running the level is much lower, 0.2lts is barely noticeable ;)
The light could indicate over/underfilled and probably goes out when the engine is running to reduce the level to read ok??

So the Toyota engines do have sensors to read an overfill? (2KD-FVT)

Ack, I've decided to reset the spanner light as per manual.
I've got a full oil changed planned in 1,5 months anyways. (roughly 3000km's from now)

If the spanner light doesn't come back on before that point I'll assume it was the normal 'Time for service' warning.

The overfill is that minimal. From really below LOW to just over HIGH i've put in 1 liter (and missed the clear oil on my dipstick as it's a B#TCH to read).

Tried to suck oil from the top of the dipsticktube be putting a hose over there but that didn't work.
All other options are to messy to perform now.
