Coolant change

Postby ryan1717 on Fri, 02 Dec 2016 9:53 +0000

Hi everyone,

I am doing a coolant change on my 2008 kun26. I have read some of the other posts but I'm still confused what action to take next. I tried to fill the system through the overflow tank but had it seemed to take a very long time to run through. So I thought I would speed it up by pouring coolant in the top of the radiator & top of the engine. I'm worried about air in the system still. Can anyone help with what I should do next? Cheers

I just do what i do with every car, fill it up then run it with the radiator cap off turn the heater on and top it up as it sucks it through. When it stops going down put the cap back on fill the overflow to the max line amd check it for a few days

G'day ryan1717. How did you go? I seem to be having similar problems with my 2013 d-4D. No radiator cap, so where do you fill/bleed it?

There is a fitting on top of the radiator that you need to insert a 3/8 inch square thing to remove. Then just top up the expansion tank and wait for the level to drop and repeat. Repeat until level does not drop

Hey guys,
Best solution I found was to remove overflow bottle cap & also remove 3/8 plug on top of radiator. I used my karcher vacuum cleaner but put the hose in the blower output and into the overflow bottle.
Ran the car until hot ~82 degrees and then turned on vacuum until had a steady flow out of radiator plug. Top up coolant bottle, do not let run dry.
