Always comes down to correct oil change times and owner understanding services as law.

Yep, I have seen them like that with the Castrol blend.
Castrol, Nulon, and Penrite, all good oils.
Catch you later, John.

Sorry about the late reply. Got back from overseas a week ago.
I love the 5 Speed Auto. Smooth and no aggressive kick backs.
I find it much better than the 4 speed. That is just my opinion.
Cheers

hi..im new to this site.. ive just purchased a 2007 D4D Hilux with 200,000 km on it.. it rattles when its cold but the rattle goes away when its warm.. i looked in the manual and it says the best oil for it is 5w-30.. but im in queensland so im gonna try the 5w-40 as it has 15w-40 in it from the dealers.. i have read before on a forum that the thinner oil stops the rattle.. im gonna give it a go this weekend..has anyone had this same problem ?? dont think its the injectors as a mates 2014 D4D hilux has done the same rattle when its cold from day one

My 07 d4d sr5 lux last service at about 193,000kms ( Not long after I brought it) I put in valvoline super diesel 15w40, all good so far and hasn't burned any and doesn't leak :) upto almost 199,000 now

After getting back from a small trip at Xmas it'll have at least 200,000 on her and I'll give it a service with penrite 15w50 semi synthetic as recommended by my best mate who's a mechanic.

Then I can go back to the regular 10k services :)

Up here in hot QLD, Penrite Diesel 15W-50 is the go, especially in summer.
To sort out where those injectors are, you need to do a diagnostic test on them.

Here's a nice clean engine.

It's had the oil in the bottom photograph, all it's 180,000km life.

Penrite HPR Diesel 15, what a great product. Seeing is believing.

HPR15 ( plus 10 or whatever it is ) for me too :D
Been stuck on penrite for a couple years now, never had a problem. Brothers jimmy, my 2 xr turbos ( not driven lightly ), and now my hilux. Always looks like it could go another 5-10, I change around 7-8k.

you could even run hpr10 down your way lux95, I only really went 15 as its coming into summer here and most days are 25+, HPR10/15 are both quality oils.
