120k Service Due

Hi all,

I have my 120k service due based on time, not on km.

Had the car in for its 110k at the start of the year and I've managed to clock up only just over 1000km.

Because this service is quite expensive, what do you all think if I do the filters and oil and then wait until I've done 120k and then have it booked in?

I understand at minimum the oil and filter should be changed but the fuel and air filter I don't see a need as the car hasn't really moved.

What are your thoughts?

How olds ya rig? Would be getting close to needing the cooland and brake fluid changed. Possibly the timing belt etc also.

If it was me, just the engine oil and filter and that's only because engine oil has harmful corrosive stuff in it from the combustion process once it has been in service. If it's left sitting around for another 6 months you want fresh oil in there.
As TOYZX said, other fluids that are degraded by time as opposed to Kms like brake fluid and coolant should be changed if due.
As a guide, no point changing spark plugs in a petrol engine if they haven't done the Kms.

The only problem is that it starts to get confusing keeping track if the service schedule isn't followed as per the book.

Thank you very much for the advice.

Agree completely about duration and degradation over time.

I changed the oil and and filter and inspected the air and fuel filter. I'll leave those until I've clocked up the KMs
Timing belt is due 130k service I believe... Ouch..

Thanks for the help.
