Looking for a brake shop (in Perth)

Hi All,

Apparently Toyota tell me that I need to get my rear brakes fixed as it needs new shoes etc.
They have quoted me $1050 (it could be more but they wont give me a firm price...).

Based that $1000+ for rear drum brakes seems crazy, I figure I would ask around and see if someone could please recommend me a brake shop I can take her to in Perth (preferably South of Perth).

I am not that mechanically minded and don't mind paying someone to do it, but $1000 just seems far to expensive.
Thanks Guys,
Appreciate your help!

HOLY SHITE!!!
Mate for $1000 I'm in perth I'll do your breaks for you! ha ha
Its a bit fiddly but if you aren't mechanically minded like you say then its easy to get mixed up.
Do you need new drums and shoes or just shoes?
Either way its less than a half days work, including giving the area a nice clean and lube.
Like said above, drums are about $130-$160 depending where you get them from and shoes about $60 - $80.
Throw in a can of brake spray and you've got everything you need for a little over $200.
Thats some expensive labour right there.

Hi Guys,
Its a standard 2013 SR5 turbo diesel.
Got 32in BFG on the stock wheels.

Done 80,000km and last service at Melville I was told it would need the rear brakes done.
I am guessing it will be just the shoes.

I know with disk brakes the have to machine them, not sure if they do that with drums or not?

I called Automasters in the area I live in and they quoted me approx. $260 or if it needs new everything the max will be $550.
Not being that mechanical I think Ill just take it to Automasters :) and put the extra $700 towards my lift kit!
Good mechanics are hard to find as are honest ones :)

Thanks for your help boys,
Andrew
