hand brake failure

Postby FIRIE on Wed, 02 Oct 2013 8:33 +0000

Hi Guys
Just got home from work and the hand brake has just given way,Think the cable has snapped as I can see the cable on the pulley(on the hand brake stick)Has anyone got a link or manual diagram on how to replace or fix the cable. Now just incase I have it wrong I'll just give a brief discription on what happened.Got hm then pulled the hand brake and as it went up the tension suddenly gave way and now there's no tension at all.Cable is still in the pulley so Im guessing it has fallen off or snapped.

Any help would be appreciated as I will need to fix it asap(live on a hill :D

jump under the car and you will see it come through a grommet and you can follow it to each side of the car it is the cable wrapped in rubber that comes up pretty close to the wheels o the inner side... depending on what/where it snapped will depend on how quick it is to fix
