Engine additives, petrol and diesel

Postby J-Lux on Sat, 15 Jun 2013 8:10 +0000

Hey dudes,

Quick question:

Has anyone used liqui-moly anti friction treatment before and if it worth the cost?

Also if anyone has used the wynns 100k treatment before, if it works or is it worth putting in at 100k?

Thanks

This is my opinion, waste of money. Service regularly, use good quality engine oil and you'll be fine.

I run Pro-Ma performance products in all my toys. My old man ran them in his 89 3L hilux and after 20 years, well over 400,000kms and running 13psi through an aftermarket turbo it still has a higher compression then a brand new engine should

I've used Xado in all my toys for the last 15yrs or so (except the Jeep), expensive stuff, but I swear by it.

Have a look at nulon, they claim to have 20% less friction then known brands of oil. If you chasin less fricton for better fuel economy maybe look at a 5-30w full synthetic. Other then that i used to run mooreys engine oil additive. Was great stuff but fuel economy was abit high whilst using it, so i just went back to usuing a quality oil.

Or you could add this stuff http://www.pro-masystems.com.au/Departm ... eTest.aspx to your normal oil for heaps less friction.

My Thoughts, lubricating oil comes from the oil companies made to a certain specification and already packed full of modifiers and additives, why do you feel the need to add another one? has it been tested with the oil in your engine?

In saying that, has anyone used redline oils?
Apparently the duts guts?
