Diff + gearbox oils 2009 4x2

Postby J-Lux on Wed, 03 Apr 2013 4:41 +0000

G'day

Just want to know what grade oil (75-90?) and type will suit the diff (don't think it's an LSD diff) Does the gearbox need full synthetic?

Sorry for dumb questions as I don't have the service book.
Cheers in advance

I run castrol syntrax. Im pretty sure its 75w-90 full synthetic same for the diff. Normally the diffs are open centres not LSD. I think the v6 sr5's 4x2 came with a LSD though!

Thanks for the info mate
Helped a lot!

Do you get a bit of notchyness in the gears from the oil?
