80k service, whats in it?

seeing i lost my book and 80k service due soon,

can anyone help me cover whats needed in an 80k service?

Hi Jlux,
Basically all your filters and oils get replaced, they check diffs, brakes, timing belts. Around $300 mine cost.

I think it's a normal service, plus replace g/box transfer oil (but I always do the diffs at the same time)

I lost my book when my ute got broken into. Just go to toyota and order a new book for about $30.
They wont want to order it for you because people are known to falsify service books and replace speedos to get better value on resale. I had to hound them a bit and sign a declaration stating the VIN and milage, but eventually got a new book (with all previous service pages torn out).
If they refuse to get it for you, maybe get you local mechanic to try and order it. Those in the trade have a little more sway.

Mines a 2.7 but the g/boxes are all the same I think. 5 append Manual.

80k service is a pretty big one. Every 40k they come around. All the oils, both diffs and brake fluid replace. Air filter. My toyota dealer wanted $680 for my 120k service which is the same as 40 and 80. I ended up going somewhere else

Just got mine done today on 09 SR5 TD, was $555. They wanted to sting me another $120 for a power steering service? Probably just an oil change but I said don't bother.

The power steering service when done correctly is an important thing to get done. It's one of those things that always gets overlooked and not performed until its too late. If the oil gets brown and smells burnt at all it's a good idea for a system flush and oil replacement.

Interesting in the above screen capture the 4th item on the left.....'replace fuel filter, diesel models'......

what ever happened to ...'no need to service regularly, wait for light to come on'. Seems Toyota have changed their minds on this.

so how often does the manual now say to replace the filter ?

Yeah I believe from about 09 on the filter now has a service interval.

The gearbox and transfer oils are 75w90
