Good Perth Service

Postby Redxd on Fri, 29 Jun 2012 12:42 +0000

Hey guys,
I have been doing some reading about how there arnt any good places to take your car for a service. Or that if you do take it they charge you for stuff that hasnt even been done.
Ever since I got bought my 08 SR5 Lux (bought at 16000k) It has been to the Toyota dealer in Northbridge every 10000k's (the last 2 sets of 10000 have been to Scarborough Toyota). It's now almost due for its 70k and i'm not to sure whether or not I should still be taking it to a toyota dealer.
I'm not THAT car savy but I do know some basic stuff but I doubt I would be able to pick if they have done what they have charged me.
Does anyone know a good dealer in Perth that gives a proper service???

I'm taking mine to Mr T until the cheap servicing is done (one left).

Then I'll get a mate to do it.

He's quite anal when it comes to doing stuff right, he loves Toyotas and is a diesel mech by trade.

He writes up all the details for my serivce history, and is happy if I get any parts in.

I'd rather the money went to a mate than a big company.

I'd do it myself (did my previous 5 cars) but I really can't be bothered anymore.

I only ever get servicing done by my local guy ,me, or mates.

But as for warranty stuff , ive found city toyota in northbridge are very good and ive written them letters of commendation in the past ... pretty rare to get praise out of me! Especially of a dealer!

i live up near yanchep so clarkson toyota is the closest and is where i get mine done.

I've seen a few nicely modded hilux's out there too so some other members on here must go there too im sure.

I bought mine new from them so theyve been pretty good as far as warranty work goes. They're replaced diff centre and changed all the bearings/syncros in the gearbox after my complaints about driveline whining. Didnt take much persuasion either and ive got usual mods - lift + bigger tyres + exhaust + sliders + airbag suspension...

Anybody else got an opiniun on these guys?

I always use New Town Toyota in Welshpool because i have a mate who works there and i get looked after a lot and never really had an issue with them. Earlier this year i took it to City's in Northbridge which i also have a mate work there and would never go back ! my dash pretty much fell apart when i drove out and the workmanship was terrible.

If your up from around Wangara way I have an excellent mechanic, he used to be a 4wder so he knows what to look for, now hes into drag racing so he has a broad set of knowledge and skills. He even has a Dyno.

SS auto repair is what he calls himself.

Yeah like i said Clarkson toyota have been good to me, and ive seen several highly modded lux's parked outside for servicing so hopefully some other members have had experiences with them they can report....
