Remember that the slip joints in the tailshaft only need a light greasing, only two or three pumps. Pump the unis up until fresh grease squeezes out.

I use castrol LMX bearing grease, can get it at super cheap and so on, like earlier said, only pump in a couple of pumps in the yoke(slide) joints. And any grease is better than none! ;)

As far as I'm aware, only the 4wd drive shaft has grease points, the 2wd is"greased for life" at the factory

I think I counted 11 nips on mine. That's including 4 for greaseable shackles though. A couple are a PITA to get to so use a flexible hose tip gun.

tail shaft uni's and front input shaft to front gearbox have grease nipples i usually do them before any 4x4 wheeling and after cleaning with gerni and once a month for street driving
i also have greasable shackles and front UCA's can have enough lube i say

u might find it hard to get the gun onto all grease nipples in one go, try doin rear first then move car to position nipples down for the front shaft

hope this helps

Or get car on turrets, so you can get underneath and turn the shafts until greasing nipples are visible, Did that yesterday, as I am going offroading tomorrow (sunday), remember, two shafts, one goes to the rear differential and one goes to the front, both have greasing nipples. While you are at it, allways check for any loose bolts and screws....I allways do greasing and tightening together, before and after each offroad trip. Any brand name grease would do, but..as a general thing, go for the expensive ones, you don;t want to be cheap with your love, do you? So (I have a 2006 diesel D/C hilux too) those are all the greasing points, unless you have greasable shackles in the back (not stock).
If it can't go where I want to go, then it is either useless, or I 'm not thinking straight.

Is it bad to use the wrong grease? I just used cv grease for shackles and drive train.

A bit annoyed with fourbys who installed my lift. The extended shackles had no grease and the screw on grease nipples were only finger tightened. Done about 10,000 km with them like that.

I'd be annoyed too, because extended shackles are illegal.

Actually I think they are just greasable shackles - my mistake.
