ring the TA customer service line, ask them to recitfy, but, did you have a replacement vehicle in this time that enabled you to work eg, a yaris is not acceptable for a tradie.

Well they did the bullbar recall yesterday and it now sits closer and slightly higher.

I also noticed that my clutch pedal now feels very soft...weird. :?

I spoke to the local dealership when they did mine and i was told that toyota is paying them to remove the fuel tank to perform the recall. Just check the bolts afterwards mine could have been a bit tighter.

Hi altacolin.Sounds like Louie de shonks chop shop would have done a better job. That is an absolute Bloody disgrace.Tell them to keep it & give you a new vehicle,I would take it straight to consumer affairs, make as much noise as you can you never know where it might go.Those butchers will never get my truck to work on I will sit it out for a while, think a lot of others will do the same, might wait till late next year when new model lux comes out, trade it in & they can do what they like with it,same as I did with the bonnet fiasco recall.

got a call from toyota today saying they can finally book my lux in.
but the earliest they have is late April !!
I asked her about any safety issues and she replied " none unless your planning on driving on corrugated roads, if you are then you can get it in early next month".
I told her I planned to and now it's booked in early Jan.

It would have been cheaper to put a one piece driveshaft in with a double cardan joint at the diff end and shim the diff to correct the angle on all hilux's with a suspension lift.

Tried to get mine done with my last service.

Dealer said they could book me in but they can't get the parts due to a nation wide shortage.

Still waiting for the phone call several months later....

I had mine done last week, booked in to Hinterland Toyota Nerang for 110,000 service. Only had to wait 4 days, service done, recall done, replaced clock spring free of charge, (after trying to charge me $700), Hilux workmate loan car. Very happy.
The recall work is fine too, with a long range tank as the lowest part of the vehicle the hoop shouldnt foul on much.
Cheers Greg.

Windsor Toyota (NSW), cancelled my recall booking, apparently Toyota Australia have run out of steel loops.
They won't have any stock replacement until Feb 2011. So they are not re-booking or taking any new bookings unitl Toyota Australia provide them with more parts.

Windsor Toyota told me they have done approx 150 recalls to date and nearly all of them had to un-bolt the fuel tank, drop it down slightly to attach the bolt on loop.
They even said some tanks (depending on the type) had to be perminantly spaced down and over to make room for the bolt on loop.
Shit this worries me, I don't want Toyo touching my tank full stop........
